Mechanical Maintenance Engineer

Melton Mowbray

  • Permanent

  • Shifts: 12 hours, 7-7, 2 days and nights – 4 on/4 off

  • Salary: £50,000 -£60,000 (inclusive of shift allowance) dependent on experience + performance related company bonus

Job Purpose

Drive a reduction in MTTR through effective problem solving and technical skills. Technical facilitation, training and leadership of technical solutions to enable a reduction in technical downtime impacting TRS, Waste, Quality and Safety.

What are we looking for?

  • Proven technical skills within a FMCG environment.

  • Experience in problem solving and Root Cause Analysis of technical issues.

  • Minimum HNC / HND in the relevant engineering discipline supported by suitable experience

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PI Process Book and SAP Planned Maintenance.

  • Competent in Risk assessment and change control procedures.

  • Experienced in leading Root Cause Analysis and Fault-Finding investigation.

What would be your key responsibilities?

  • Ability to fault find and problem solve on a broad range of equipment in a variety of situations.

  • Effective delivery of maintenance activities, to ensure smooth transition between maintenance and production availability of equipment.

  • Take part in risk assessments and formulation of method statements to assist in safe undertaking of any activity.

  • Identify parts for the purchasing of goods and services where these are necessary to conclude work.

  • Fix breakdowns in a timely manner during their shift timeframe

  • Level one problem solving including component failure analysis

  • Detailed entry into Atlas of all breakdowns / known jobs.
