Salary range from £34,600-£38,960 (PLUS annual company bonus and benefits)

Monday-Friday, Day shifts only (flexible on start time)

At Mars we have an exciting opportunity for a Mechanical Engineer Area Technician to join and drive a reduction in MTTR through effective problem solving and technical skills. The role will include technical facilitation, training, and leadership of technical solutions, to enable a reduction in technical downtime impacting TRS, Waste, Quality and Safety.

What are we looking for?

  • Mechanical engineering experience or HNC / HND (NVQ LV4 apprenticeship) in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Technical engineering skills within a FMCG environment or similar.
  • Experience in problem solving and Root Cause Analysis of technical issues.

What will be your key responsibilities?

  • Conformance to company standards, e.g. ISO 14000, SSWs, PTW, Hot Work etc.
  • Clear communications to operations and technical teams using appropriate systems.
  • Effective delivery of maintenance activities, to ensure smooth transition between maintenance and production availability of equipment.
  • Level one problem solving including component failure analysis
  • Complete 5Y / A3 root / BDA cause analysis for more in depth problems
  • Equipment improvement / modification & redesign
