Job Description

Job Description:

At Mars, we have bold aspirations to be a digital-first business. We’ve all experienced how digital and data is rapidly transforming our day-to-day work and we need to respond more quickly to the changing world around us. Over the past several years, data management and expertise has evolved organically rather than strategically within our business and as a result, the way we currently manage data is fragmented. Our Master Data team works to ensure timely, accurate and trusted Master Data; critical to our aspiration to be a digital-first, data-centric business.

As part of this continued journey, we need to continue transforming our IT: renewing solutions & platforms to digitize Master Data Management, harmonizing processes and technologies between various parts of the Mars business, and ensuring capabilities that deliver timely, accurate and trusted data which empowers our associates to improve the business.

The primary purpose of this role is to lead the design and implementation of technical MDM solutions across the Mars and Royal Canin business. This position will be responsible for enterprise MDM platforms & tools, their integration, their architectural design, build and overseeing migration. It is essential to have experience designing & delivering MDM platforms leveraging the modern SAP stack (MDG/Data Services/S4HANA, etc.).

What are we looking for?

  • A background working with with MDM technologies like SAP MDG, NetWeaver MDM, or Informatica
  • Strong technical master data management experience
  • Experience working with the SAP stack – including Master Data Management, Middleware, and Data Architecture - ideally MDG on S/4HANA
  • Experience in leading large transformation initiatives across complex, global companies
  • Leadership, Change Management and Delivery Management skills
  • History of building strong stakeholder relationships

What will be your key responsibilities?

  • Translate strategic business needs into technical architecture
  • Lead and direct virtual teams of Technical/Analyst & Solution Architects and outsourced resources to build and deliver Mars’ next generation data management
  • Drive innovation in Master Data Management (MDM) and other data initiatives and shape the long-term view based on industry trends and opportunities for Mars
  • Drive the centralization, standardization, and harmonization of the master data landscape
  • Ability to be “hands on” with technology if needed to test, modify, and execute solutions to achieve expected outcomes
  • Define clear technical roadmap that ensures our migration from the AS-IS state to the TO-BE state is carefully planned and delivered, avoiding disruption to existing operations

What can you expect from Mars?

  • Work with over 130,000 diverse and talented Associates, all guided by The Five Principles.
  • Join a purpose driven company, where we’re striving to build the world we want tomorrow, today.
  • Best-in-class learning and development support from day one, including access to our in-house Mars University.
  • An industry competitive salary and benefits package, including company bonus.
