This role is critical in ensuring that all Mars digital properties meet relevant legal regulations and meet or exceed Mars standards, partnering with cross-functional teams, corporate and segments leaders to maintain compliance, meet and elevate marketing, technology, and digital accessibility standards, while reducing risks.

As of 2026, all segments are in scope, and recent acquisitions are progressively added to the scope. The only exclusions are the China, Russia, and Belarus markets.

As the Senior Manager, this role is crucial in shaping the future of digital governance within the company, requiring strong influence, passion for designing standardized services and processes, business acumen, and deep regulatory and digital standard expertise. The role will also include line managing a direct report, offshore partners, and collaborating with stakeholders at all levels to ensure the alignment of digital strategies with regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

Regulatory Leadership: Lead the design and development of assurance strategies for all Digital Properties (public-facing websites, social media, mobile apps), ensuring compliance with external regulations, as well as adherence to Mars internal and adopted standards (Digital Properties Policy, Digital Properties Engineering Standards, Mars Marketing Code…).

Digital Properties Governance: Establish, standardize, and manage digital governance frameworks that outline processes for assessing and maintaining the regulatory compliance of all digital assets. Focus on continuous monitoring and auditing of digital platforms to maintain compliance with regulations related to digital accessibility, data privacy, and marketing ethical protocols. As part of this governance, the role holder has an essential accountability and mission to ensure the data integrity, accuracy and completeness of the global inventory of Mars digital properties, of which many enterprise processes and reporting derive.

Digital Properties Assurance: ensure and enforce standards and requirements related to vendors, outcomes, and technologies related to the build and maintenance of digital properties.

Stakeholder Management: Work closely with Digital Technologies (delivery, operations, InfoSec, Cloud CoE…), Legal (CDPO, CPO), Responsible Marketing and Marketing leaders, and digital assets owners to ensure alignment of digital initiatives with regulatory standards.

o Role holder organizes and leads quarterly steering committees with higher management, the global responsible marketing officer, Chief Data Privacy Officer.

o Role holder organizes and leads reviews with CISO, Web, and MarTech partners.

Trusted Advisor – Influence & Advocate: Serve as the digital subject matter expert, influencing decision-making across the organization and driving awareness of digital compliance and adherence issues to CxOs and other functional leaders.

Risk Management: Identify potential compliance risks, develop strategies to mitigate them with respective teams, ensure the implementation of best practices, using internal systems to formalize the risks and mitigation

People Management: Directly manage a team that includes both Associates and third parties, engaging and maximizing their performance to support the assurance and compliance function, providing mentorship, guidance, and development.

Service Management: Acts as service manager, ensuring service meets its SLA and obligations, drives projects to completion, plans and supervises activities to meet business goals, and is responsible for budget management of all costs related to the domain (tools, licenses, labor etc.).

Community Management: Engage the community of digital property owners to ensure the audience is aware, educated on their ongoing responsibilities, encouraging and influence prompt actions as relevant.

Supplier / Partner Management: partnering with DT leaders, commercial teams, enforcing policies and standards with any partner, building and maintaining digital properties.

Continuous Improvement: bring thought leadership, strategic thinking, and proposals to continuously improve our approach as per existing and future identified risks, changes to regulations, and to use digital technologies. From digital accessibility standards to data privacy, marketing, AI, and responsible considerations in the context of digital properties.
