Maintenance Planner
Plymouth
£38,000 - £40,000
The role will work closely with the Maintenance Team Leaders, Operations Team Leaders and Production Planners to secure line downtime and resource to maximize the amount of planned maintenance than can be executed.

Maintenance planning experience
Significant experience as a maintenance technician
Advanced skills in planning and prioritizing work
Advanced knowledge of the MS Office software, CMMS systems & electronic drawing software
What will be your key responsibilities?
Develop work plans for maintenance jobs with necessary information to allow efficient scheduling assignment and safe & food safe execution of maintenance work. Follow the CMMS structure to ensure that KPIs can be correctly reported on maintenance performance. Evaluate job feedback to improve future work. Minimsie the maintenance notification backlog and ensure the work order backlog is current. Utilise feedback from technicians on job planning to improve for future planning of maintenance jobs.
Partners with the Maintenance Stores Coordinator to ensure spare parts are available and removed from stores where strategically not required. Targets the minimisation of spend and identifies opportunities for spend reduction.
Perform purchasing duties for parts not required from stores. Partner with commercial where required to ensure the best value on parts purchased.
Manage contracts and standing orders with 3rd parties. Works with commercial to find value leadership opportunities to reduce maintenance cost and improve quality of delivery from contracts.
Operate and maintain the CMMS system for maintenance including continuous improvement of the processes and systems being utilised. Create, use, and maintain plant history and other technical files to include information in current job plans to anticipate and avoid job delays.
Assign technical work to the appropriate technician through CMMS, matching their technical skills to the required job. Provides clear planned daily activity schedules to each technician. Utilise feedback from technicians on job planning to improve for future planning of maintenance jobs.
Partners with production planning to create an annual cycle of planned maintenance events. Works with production planning to schedule maintenance on a periodic & weekly basis at least 1 week in advance.
Where schedule breaks are required, works with the Maintenance Team Leader to reassign work to technicians. Schedules work for all maintenance shutdowns.
Partners with technicians to understand priority work that requires scheduling.
Works with Operations Team Leaders to secure Operational resource for work on planned maintenance during line downtime. Assigns work orders appropriate to the skill level to the Operators.
