As a member of the MGS Learning Leadership team, works collaboratively to enable a strong culture of learning at Mars, through exceptional learner experiences and operational excellence as well as take accountability for MGS Learning Team talent and engagement. This role will have responsibility for inspiring a new culture of learning at Mars through innovative learner experiences and leveraging technology innovation that enables learning through both traditional and non-traditional channels.

This is a hybrid role that must be based out of one of the listed locations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define the strategy for and governance of compulsory learning for all Mars Associates and determine how to best leverage technology to automate delivery that creates the highest quality learner experience while achieving operational excellence.

  • Lead the cultural shift towards "Always on Learning", building learning as a habit for solving problems and sharing knowledge. More specifically, develop the strategy for leveraging modalities such as user generated content, communities of practice, project experiences, etc to build capabilities and facilitate multi-directional learning amongst our associates (and overtime across our entire value chain).

  • Have a pulse on the external learning technology landscape in service of continually assessing the gaps in our learning technology ecosystem to ensure we are providing cutting edge technology solutions that enhance the learner experience, support the vision and strategy for learning@Mars and enable operational effectiveness.

  • As a member of the MGS Learning Leadership team work collaboratively to enable a strong culture of learning at Mars, thought exceptional learner experience and operational excellence by keeping the learner at the center of everything we do, drawing connections between the various parts of MGSL and having an eye for continuous improvement.

  • Take accountability for MGS Learning Team talent and engagement through frequent connections with talent across the MGSL team.

  • Lead a team of Learning Experience Managers to define and govern compulsory learning at Mars leveraging learner insights gathered through strong relationships with both the Strategic Capability Team and MGSL Regional Comms and Managers.

  • Lead a team of Learning Experience Managers and Curation Coaches that will deploy the strategy to shift the culture of learning@ Mars via the Strategic Capability Team, influencing of key functional stakeholders and building partnerships with other key partners across Mars such as Digital Workplace.

  • Build strong connection with Digital Technology HR IT Director to ensure line of site to HR Technology strategy/ecosystem allow us to best leverage existing technologies features and functionalities to the fullest extent and ensure all new learning technologies are fully integrated into the overall HR technology architecture.

What are we looking for?

  • Bachelor's degree (or the equivalent of education) with extensive experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.

  • Ability to travel as required for appropriate key meetings and forums (around 10% of the time).

  • Experience in various aspects of learning and development lifecycle

  • Knowledge of Design Thinking/UX practices

  • Knowledge of external learning technology

  • Perspective on the needs of our learner population gained through direct experience engaging with Mars Associates.

  • Demonstrated ability to Influence without authority across a diverse set of stakeholders

  • Demonstrated Experience driving culture change.
