Location: Slough, UK

Hybrid working- 50% on-site.

Salary £45,000 - £55,000 + Bonus + Benefits

We have an opportunity for an International Benefits Specialist. You will manage and administers the bespoke retirement, death, and disability benefits for globally mobile Mars associates to ensure they understand what benefits they will receive; to facilitate the calculation and payment of those benefits from the various countries in which they were earned (usually) a different country in which the associates might choose to retire. This role has a high degree of complexity due to the number of variations available.

What are we looking for?

  • A background in benefits and a working knowledge of pensions and related benefits, preferably defined benefits and cash balance.
  • Strong numeracy and analytical skills, including inductive and deductive reasoning, in addition to the ability to research and solve problems.
  • Ability to grasp complex financial/actuarial concepts and methodologies.
  • A pension professional qualification post-degree would be beneficial.

What would be your key responsibilities?

  • Maintaining the individual benefits commitments (with a key focus on defined benefit and cash balance pensions) for over 200 of Mars Inc’s most senior associates who each have unique arrangements reflecting their career path across multiple countries.
  • Coordination and/or production of the calculation of benefits and technical support for the delivery of international benefits.
  • Managing ad-hoc projects as required, driven by the need to respond to administrative, legislative changes, and governance requirements.
  • Both maintaining and enhancing the profile of the International Benefits Team as a centre of excellence and expertise.
  • Managing relationships with actuarial, legal, financial, and other advisors as well as in-house teams such as other benefit teams, rewards, payroll, global mobility, and tax, globally across Mars.
  • Identifying areas where our processes can be improved and made more efficient, often with the use of technology.
  • Communicating with members via written materials (emails, benefit statements, estimates, briefing presentations, leaver communications, and benefits payments) plus providing support and information via Teams.
