Industrial Engineer & Mars Supply Excellence Manager

Job Description:

The Site Industrial Engineering (IE) and Mars Supply Excellence (MSE) Manager supports the factory in achieving the short- and long-term business objectives. He/she is co-pilot to the Plant Manager. He/she leads team of IE, MSE and E&T leads. Together they advise strategically the Plant Manager, the Factory management team, and the Value Stream. They analyse the performance of the factory and provide recommendations to develop the site with use of MSE. They are i responsible for the MSE engagement program and “capability building framework” on site.

What are we looking for?

  • Higher education. Preferably with Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Finance or Economics qualifications
  • Ideally 5+ years professional experience in Manufacturing environment
  • Experience working in an MSE / TPM environment
  • Proven analytical capability and change management capability
  • Knowledge of manufacturing technologies and pipeline practices
  • Efficiency management skills
  • Project management skills
  • English level – fluent verbal and written

What will be your key responsibilities?

  • Co-Pilots site strategy development with the Plant Manager in line with regional strategy.
  • Development of the Business Operating Plan / Financial Shaping Reviews for the site in cooperation with S&F and the other functional departments.
  • Co-Pilots MSE implementation on site:
  • Advises PM on how the MSE program can be used to deliver the Compelling Business Need (CBN)
  • Project management lead of MSE program.
  • Coaches Pillar leads on Pillar implementation.
  • Leads MSE site engagement.
  • Leads general MSE awareness program / knowledge building on site.

Leads the FI pillar to drive loss elimination on site:

  • Leads Loss analysis program for the site and analyses KPIs to find improvement opportunities.
  • Leads FI improvement process to continuously drive loss elimination on site.
  • Leads Problem solving capability building on site in order to eliminate site losses.

Coordinates 3 year strategic roadmap and Value Leadership program for the site:

  • Analysing long term performance of the site as input.
  • Development of 3 year strategic roadmap together with Factory Management Team.
  • Tracking and review of 3 year roadmap on regular basis with FMT.
  • Reporting of Value leadership projects to regional team on periodic basis.

Requests the capital budgets required to execute the site strategy:

  • Preparation of relevant Data, KPIs and analysis for all investment projects.
  • Presentation and promotion to ensure stakeholders support for the projects.
  • Preparation of Projects Request write up and Status and Completion reports for investment projects.
  • Manages the site Small Minor budget in cooperation with the Site Technical Manager.
  • Manages site Key Performance Indicators and target setting.
  • Development and management of local systems for business performance tracking; controlling and monitoring of factory performance KPIs in cooperation with S&F incl. FIP reporting.
  • Preparation of the required local and regional reporting.
  • Line Management of the Site IE, MSE and E&T leads based on LMX principles.
  • Coaching/mentoring of Supply Excellence lead in order to ensure excellent application of MSE tools in the VS.
  • Coaching/mentoring of CI experts in order to ensure a robust loss elimination program is executed on site, aimed to deliver the sites business objectives.
  • Person & their team are responsible for the E&T Essential Element “Factory Capability Framework” on site.
  • Team owns the tools related to the EE “Factory Capability Framework”: role profiling, Validation, skill matrix and factory skills gap assessment.
  • Responsible for correct administration of the site training program and escalates gaps.

M anages the F-SCMR process on site:

  • Interacts with regional functions for SCMR input such as Network planning and Material supply organisation
  • Prepares SCMR meeting deck and pre-read.
  • Meeting facilitation and action tracking.
  • Aligning local SCMR to global standard.
  • Use of FMOS to support SCMR process
  • Represents the factory within the markets activity management processes and supports the Regional IE Team.

Salary Package:

  • £67,000 - £86,000
  • 20% bonus*

*paid if 100% of business targets achieved.
