Global Standards Verification and Compliance Lead

This role will develop segment-specific standards/procedures/training material to support the QFS standards. The role will be the Segment owner for a number of QFS standards, which will include implementation and governance of the standards across the Food Segment manufacturing sites to drive standardization and compliance.

This is a key business enabler to achieve compliance with our QFS standards and therefore to improve product quality and performance and reduce the number of quality incidents in the business and the continuous improvement of technical capabilities within the business, which will contribute to operational excellence and associate development and engagement.

The job holder will be part of the Food Segment Quality Standardization & Compliance team and is in a unique position to connect with the different Food business units.

The jobholder is the leader in the Food Segment QFS team, and so a key player in delivering the QFS standardization strategy. The job holder will engage the different teams by crafting and delivering a compelling vision and purpose and inspire, motivate, and create the necessary alignment and support.

The job holder will be the Food Segment standard owner. There is no expectation that the jobholder has expertise in all standards or R&D functional areas but will need to grasp quickly the minimum technical concepts to ensure the needs of customers are effectively met. They will drive continuous improvement by defining and writing the Food Segment standards and procedures to support the corporate QFS standards.

To ensure standard compliance, the job holder will govern the QFS standards within their scope they must apply strong analytical skills to adherence assessments, identify risks and opportunities, and effectively translate them into continuous improvement plans, in partnership with peers across the business.

What are we looking for?

Preferred: Lead auditor qualification

Required:

  • Professional degree (Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional degree)

  • HACCP and/or Food Safety Advanced is preferred

  • Several years of consistent experience in operational Q&FS or interfacing R&D processes

  • Proven ability to lead and execute an initiative or project to a successful outcome, with a high level of customer focus and adopting a continuous improvement mindset

  • Strong team player and able to collaborate remotely

  • Strong knowledge and proven implementation of standards and quality management across organizational layers (i.e. business units, manufacturing sites, market units, etc.) as well as their interaction and governance expectations

  • Knowledge in: Standardisation, Knowledge management, Project management, Good communication

  • Ability to commute on a weekly basis to either Waltham, King’s Lynne, or Slough (hybrid model)

What will be your key responsibilities?

  • Responsible for ensuring the standards, procedures, and tools follow the D3 process.

  • Ensuring the project charter is written and approved.

  • Write new and review existing standards, procedures, and tools for the Food segment in partnership with the segment food safety team.

  • Ensuring the documents go through appropriate consultation. Collating the consultation feedback and making changes to the documents as necessary.

  • Effectively deploying the documents to the stakeholders.

  • Developing and delivering training on the documents.

  • Setting compliance targets for the documents.

  • Continuously Improve standards and procedures based on end user feedback, audit insights, cross-functional and cross-segment input as applicable and on performance data analysis & insight

  • Governing the documents, including:

    • Tracking compliance, developing and defining compliance action plans, identifying and executing continuous improvement initiatives, and driving standardization.

    • Using the compliance data and plans and providing input into the CAB T0 plans.

    • Being the first point of contact for site support.

    • Collating feedback from the Food segment on cross-segment documents and representing the Food segment in cross-segment forums.

  • Support in improving digital tools based on feedback on the process

  • Supports the capability development program by working closely with the talent, culture, and capabilities lead by developing training content for the standards owned by them and where required delivering training.

  • Provides segment expertise in internal audit and leads continuous improvement in this area across all units in the segment

  • Support in reviewing & approving concessions requested from segments in collaboration with cross-functional teams, standard owners, and FQLT, determine if acceptable risk mitigations are in
