What are we looking for?

  • Education & Professional Qualification
  • Minimum requirement is a Master in an engineering/ technology with a proven track record in food related technologies, with global working experience essential. Experience in preservation technologies, i.e. sterilization and pasteurization technologies will be highly appreciated.
  • Phd – process engineering, food technology, food science preferred
  • Proven leadership capabilities in particular with teams of non-direct reports and multifunctional disciplines
  • Proven project management experience, with managing complex project at global scale
  • Knowledge/Experience
  • Must speak excellent English
  • Good understanding of relevant food manufacturing processes and quality standards (minimum 08-10 yrs of experience in Technology area)
  • Good understanding and experience in sterilization technologies, food handling, mixing, product transfer and thermal processes
  • Good understanding of process-product interaction and be able to create insights benefiting the goals of the projects. This includes raw material, intermediates and final product.
  • Experience in leading technology concepts from pilot to manufacturing scale
  • Proven ability to work in a multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural environment.
  • Proven ability to transfer technical knowledge and skills.
  • Project Management experience and expertise
  • Travel Capability

  • The success of this role requires ad-hoc global travel, which can be up to 4 weeks at a time. Travel will be dependent on number of deployments. The ability to work cross time zones as well as the ability to hold a passport and obtain Visa’s for relevant countries is mandatory.

What will be your key responsibilities?

  • The job holder is responsible for the development of new technologies based on the Technology agenda for the Food segment and the technology support for Value Leadership activities. Special focus will be on preservation technologies like sterilization, pasteurization so relevant experience will be preferred.
  • Support transfers of new product and technologies globally, in line with business demands and priorities.
  • Responsible as TPL (technical Project Lead) on behalf of the Global R&D to lead technology projects through stage gate process with an output driven mindset.
  • Responsible for managing research projects with internal/external innovation partners, universities and represent Science & Technology in cross segment forums and consortiums.
  • Responsible for engaging, aligning, collaborating, or leading global and site-based teams to ensure business aligned solutions are available for successful deployment.
  • Participate in pre-project feasibility at the receiving sites. Accountable for development, deployment, and handover of technology solution in the receiving sites. This includes but not limited to developing & handover of process standards, developing validation plans, supporting validation on the floor, guiding SOP development and training site experts. The job holder will work closely with the Global engineering, R&D, Q&FS, site project leads and Technology suppliers for a successful deployment and handover.
  • As a part of post-implementation handover, the job holder is expected to work closely with site and the project team to identify areas of continuous improvement, optimization, and standardization after the post implementation handover
  • Responsible to develop and execute roadmaps for existing and new technologies aiming to take them to full potential in a manufacturing environment. This includes (but not limited to) process & quality improvement on global scale, developing & deploying global standards, new technology push, defining future CAB needs, coaching, and training site experts in specific technology areas. Work closely with the Centre of Expertise (COE), R&D and sites for successful development and execution of the initiatives under the roadmap
  • Go to preservation technology expert for evaluation, development, and deployment of the technologies.
  • Expected to participate and collaborate in the Centre of Expertise (CoE) for defined technologies, driving a pre-aligned agenda in line with the priorities set within the VCO
  • Responsible for communication (both written and verbal) of key project / technical breakthroughs and findings as well project risks, then inform and influence project team and key stakeholders. Responsible for writing/ managing technical report related with the project.
  • Responsible through strong collaboration, to review / input into new or existing technology standards together with the Global Engineering and Q&FS
  • Responsible to manage availability including flexibility due to differing time zones, also ensure availability at times of commissioning at a receiving site where necessary.
