Digital Commerce, On Demand Delivery and O2O are set to represent 35% of all CPG Sales in the not too distant future. Super Charged by the Pandemic this high growth tailwind channel represents a significant opportunity across all geographies, with varying levels of penetration and sophistication and a mix of bricks to clicks players, pure players and insurgent on demand delivery providers. Winning the algorithm with consumer and shopper propositions is key to our success.
In order to accelerate the d-comm agenda Mars Wrigley has recognized that we need to staff up the Global Hub and will be creating a Global CoA (Center of Acceleration) who will work closely with the CoAs in the markets and regions, along with cross-functional partners to develop strategies and plans to achieve our clear ambition of >3x our sales by 2030.
The Global Perfect Digital Store Director will lead the full transformation of the Mars Snacking strategy, partner ecosystem and execution strategy to win the ‘Digital Shelf’. The role holder will lead and drive the development, implementation, and optimization of a comprehensive digital shelf strategy across all e-commerce channels and platforms, ensuring the flawless online presentation of the Mars Snacking portfolio and enhanced brand visibility, ultimately maximizing consumer engagement, customer satisfaction, and driving significant revenue growth. Orchestrating the wider Mars resources to ensure content, availability, ratings & review, and Search are all optimized in all teams globally is a critical part of the role.
The role will lead the Technology and Data & Analytics Strategy for Perfect Digital Shelf and will also collaborate with the Global Perfect Store Director to design and deploy an inspiring intelligent Perfect Store program which enables an omnichannel view of the execution ‘at shelf’ for Mars Snacking to deliver a clear source of competitive advantage,
The role will lead Mars Wrigley Global, Regional and local Leadership teams through an omni channel conversion transformation: ensuring the right organizational focus, mindset, resources and pace of deployment.
Key Responsibilities
Reimagine Perfect Digital Store for Mars Wrigley; design and align key strategic shifts and translate into transformation priorities (resources, mindset, timing).
Lead the delivery of short & long term Perfect Digital Store shifts together with local and regional champions, by ensuring markets understand and embed PDS mindset and strategies. The output will be to optimise profitability and Sales revenues at a category and portfolio level for MW and our customers.
Re design the Mars Snacking overall Operating Model (org design, resourcing, deployment and One Demand Capabilities) required to re imagine Perfect Store for our Digital Customers and Platforms.
Foster consumer connectivity: make clear linkages between Snacking Category Vision and in store/online priorities and drive these into Picture of Success creation to support local markets where needed. Builds metrics and measures that enable quantification of opportunities across the globe and identifies investment opportunities to secure profitable growth of existing portfolio through step changing compliance. Review in market conversion/executional excellence capabilities and build improvement roadmap by conducting frequent Xray and reviews in our largest units, in close collaboration with local and regional sales teams.
Identify and recommend digital technology solutions and Advanced Analytics overall investment roadmap development and implementation to generate efficiencies and valuable insights for the Perfect Store execution with markets’ cooperation and strong partnership of Digital Technology and ODDA. Vendor and Partner Strategic Approach: Identify, evaluate, and manage relationships with digital technology providers, agencies, and other external partners, ensuring the delivery of high-quality solutions and services. Own the global budget and shape regional deployment of spend on Digital Commerce capabilities.
Motivate, engage, and inspire the global Perfect Digital Store community, leading the capability training globally and creation of tools and toolkits – step changing globally the capability, particularly in the Omni channel arena to realize the full growth opportunity.
Be a key leader in the development of our overall Intelligent Perfect Store capability, collaborating with the Perfect Store Director to connect and integrate PDS to deliver an omnichannel view of Mars Snacking execution globally.
Knowledge & Experience required
Broad, diverse & significant e-commerce, sales, digital, marketing and customer experience with ability to impact and influence customers of all sizes at all levels of management.
Leadership experience to include membership of a leadership team and or large scale strategic initiative requiring enterprise accountability and entrepreneurial thinking
International experience in different geographies, working across cultures, different markets, prior experience in managing different trade development and structures.
Strong track record of developing and executing visions and strategies with the ability to inspire and led a team/matrix organisation to deliver business results consistently.
Leading change: experienced leader of change programs.
