Engineering Planner

Waltham, Leicestershire

Salary £26,650 - £29,980 + annual company bonus

37.5 hours per week, Monday-Friday, 8am-4pm (flexible)

With the continued development of the Facilities Team at the Waltham Petcare Science Institute there is now an opportunity for an Engineering Planner to join our team.

The Waltham Petcare Science Institute is Mars Petcare’s science centre. At Waltham, we are on a mission to improve the lives of pets through science, all in support of our Purpose: A BETTER WORLD FOR PETS™.

This role will develop our current asset management systems, engineering outages and project portfolio. The role bridges the research, laboratory, and operations teams to ensure that maintenance activities are completed 24 hours a day seven days a week, with no impact to the ongoing research, scientific studies, and operations of the science institute.

Developing skills to support the team in project management, developmental engineering and engineering for pets will be a requirement of this role. The role will also develop your project management, activity control and budgetary management as part of our future talent pipeline.

What are we looking for?

  • Engineering background at any level – mechanical or electrical.

  • Agile and flexible working style.

  • Experience in facilities management or similar.

  • Good organisational skills.

  • Health and safety focused.

What will be your key responsibilities?

  • Deliver planning and coordination of maintenance schedules for the full campus across both mechanical and electrical disciplines.

  • Develop, organise, release, and review all maintenance plans for the campus including all SFG20 and asset management tools.

  • Maintain and evolve “SAP PM Module” including asset history and asset health check requirements.

  • Using data and metrics plan 15-year horizon activities for the campus incorporating Masterplan and Asset Health Check requirements.

  • Maintain assets and work within current maintenance budgets, timeframes, and critical research study paths.

  • Cover Capital Projects Manager’s work including management of capital project budgets.

  • Using continuous improvements techniques and coaching others to constantly drive efficiency and freedom.
