Salary Package from £47,935.30 (inclusive of company bonus and shift pay), plus benefits

Shift Pattern 2 x12hr days followed by 2 x12hr nights, followed by 4 days off

We have an opportunity for an Electrical Engineer to join and be responsible for the efficient, safe, and reliable operating condition of complex process and high-speed food processing equipment. The role will mainly focus on providing equipment troubleshooting and breakdown maintenance. As troubleshooting requirements are accomplished, the technician will change focus toward preventive maintenance activities.

They will systematically repair, adjust, and maintain processing, filling, conveying, and packaging machinery using established maintenance reliability practices, consistent observation, repair, and follow-up of operational effectiveness. Other duties include participating in continuous improvement teams, working on new project activities and continuous training.

What are we looking for?

  • Electrical engineering experience and HNC / HND (NVQ LV4 apprenticeship or equivalent) and BS7671 18th Edition Wiring Regulations
  • Knowledge of precision instrumentation, repair, and calibration
  • Skilled in Programmable Logic Controller, troubleshooting, repair and adjustment (Allen Bradley/Schneider)
  • Single and 3-phase powered equipment (troubleshoot, test, and repair)
  • AC and DC control systems (troubleshoot, test, and repair)

What will be your key responsibilities?

  • Maintain, troubleshoot, test, modify, and program automated, electromechanical equipment
  • Apply engineering principals with mechanical and electrical knowledge to eliminate production problems and improve efficiency and reliability
  • Develop, track, and communicate maintenance specific metrics to identify reduce and eliminate recurring issues on equipment and improve system reliability.
  • Participation in continuous improvement activities (Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen)
  • Perform Root Cause Failure Analysis on major unplanned breakdowns and recurring problems
