Temporary/ Fixed Term Associate (2 years)

Flexible location worldwide (UK, France, Germany, Canada, Nederlands, etc. close to Mars office locations)

As an Instructional Designer specializing in Quality & Food Safety training and tools you will support the development of a technically competent Quality talent pipeline by ensuring the appropriate training modules and tools are developed, deployed and available to all Mars associates with a Quality responsibility across multiple functions.

What are we looking for?

  • You’ll have experience in designing, developing, and evaluating high-quality, interactive blended learning solutions and will have demonstrable knowledge of the principles of instructional design in a virtual, hybrid, and classroom-based environment.

  • Intermediate to advanced skills in video and SCORM authoring technologies such as Articulate Storyline, Captivate, Premier Pro (or equivalent authoring tool) and basic understanding of LMS functionality (Workday)

  • Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Engineering, Chemistry or equivalent

  • Ideally, experience in a food manufacturing environment working in quality, food safety, engineering and/or product/process development

  • Experience in data reporting, analytics, and insights

  • A proven track record in delivering projects

What will be your key responsibilities?

Instructional Design Responsibilities

  • Manages the development of training packs to support the Quality and Food Safety training strategy following the set process and guidelines. This includes training packs for different training techniques such as eLearning, virtual classroom training (Adobe Connect/ MS Teams), classroom, videos, and animations

  • Undertakes the technical development of interactive training programs such as eLearning available on demand via mobile as well as desktop devices to support the Quality and Food Safety training strategy using Mars learning management system compatible tools (example of current software include Articulate Storyline)

  • Maintains an active working relationship with key external suppliers and Mars University (MarsU) internal learning technologies teams

  • Passionately seeks externally and internally (MarsU) the latest thinking in digital learning solutions ensuring that we have up to date information on the use and application of new technology and techniques compatible with the Mars learning management system and MarsU learning strategy

  • Consults with multiple global teams to deliver projects

  • Proactively supports the Corporate Quality team with their responsibility for training pack development, by providing design and training development process expertise

  • Seeks to empathize with the end user; building, testing, and piloting innovative learning solutions

  • Partners with the Corporate Q&FS Learning and Development Manager to govern consistent delivery of all trainings that support the Quality and Food Safety training strategy

  • Creates & curates user-centric learning pathways and journeys across Mars U platforms.

Quality and Food Safety Curriculum

  • Develops and maintains a program management tool to provide an overview of all trainings and tools under the Q&FS Training Strategy

  • Responsible for Quality training data reporting, analytics and insights

  • Collates training feedback and continuous improvement opportunities to drive change and improve the learner experience
