Continuous Improvement Specialist

The purpose of this role is to act as a catalyst in driving loss elimination in our ambition for ‘zero loss’, in line with the site priorities. The role holder will structurally optimize the efficiency & effectiveness of our operation, building problem-solving capability through coaching on the shop floor & defining new standards in key Focused Improvement activities.

What are we looking for?

  • Project Management Capability

  • Factory knowledge and experience

  • Six Sigma experience is advantageous but not required

  • A degree in Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field is advantageous but not required

What will be your key responsibilities?

  • Attendance in weekly performance reviews to build loss intelligence and set priorities

  • Ownership of the Focused Improvement Process – driving down losses in the factory

  • Analysis of data and planning of the key improvements for the critical measures, specifically factory efficiency and waste management, through Basic Problem Solving and support of Breakdown Elimination (BDE)

  • Identification and support of CI activities that will create value, leading Focused Improvement initiatives and Six Sigma projects from identification through the control phase

  • Stabilization and standardization of production processes (eliminating the re-occurrence of sporadic issues) via the definition of trigger levels for escalation in daily factory performance meetings, and supporting the development of centrelines in collaboration with Autonomous Work Teams.

  • Responsible for standard operating procedure (SOP) implementation linked to all Improvement activities with support from the Education & training pillar

  • Leadership and mentorship of others in the practical use of the TPM (Mars Supply Excellence) & Six Sigma philosophy

  • Execution of small minor CAB projects as part of the CI initiatives
