About the role:

As a Category Analyst reporting to the Category, Insights and SRM Lead, you will play a pivotal role in shaping Royal Canin’s category leadership agenda in Australia. Your focus will be on translating market, shopper, and customer insights into actionable growth strategies that drive profitability and sales performance. You will collaborate closely with internal teams and key customers to develop and implement customer-specific category plans, ensuring alignment with Mars Pet Nutrition’s broader business objectives.

This role requires a strategic thinker who can navigate complex cross-functional relationships, drive category reviews, and provide expert guidance on category trends, assortment, and distribution. By fostering strong partnerships and delivering insightful analysis, you will help position Royal Canin as the trusted category expert and enable sustainable growth for both the business and its customers.

Reporting to: Category, Insights & SRM Lead

Your unique experience:

  • Deliver best-in-class category leadership and customer collaboration, driving category growth and profitability for Royal Canin and its customers

  • Develop and execute insight-led category solutions, influencing shopper behaviour and converting more transactions at the point of sale

  • Lead the development of Customer Category Plans, providing Pet Owner insights and ensuring alignment to growth opportunities

  • Build strong relationships with Pet Owners, channel partners, and customers, positioning Royal Canin as the trusted category expert

  • Provide customer-level insight and analysis to support forecasting and the S&OP process

  • Collaborate cross-functionally to drive customer engagement and develop growth plans grounded in category vision and insight

Your experience and passion:

  • Experience in FMCG or Pet Industry category or customer management

  • Highly analytical, with experience in Power BI, Circana, or Quantium/Synergy analytical tools

  • Confident influencer and communicator, skilled at building deep customer partnerships

  • Degree qualified in business or relevant field

  • Proactive, driven, and curious, with a passion for learning and growth – you're not afraid to try new things – we're looking for someone who can influence new ways to constantly improve

  • Proven success in developing and executing category growth strategies and customer plans, preferred – but not required
