The Business Delivery Services (BDS) Director role is accountable for the delivery of a full lifecycle of specific set of IT services within their Business Capability Framework (BCF) Portfolio, Platform or Transversal team. Creates and owns strategic long-term roadmap for the portfolio of applications within the BCF, Platform or Transversal team, based on industry best & up to date practices/technologies. Role is accountable to the Business Delivery Services Senior Director for the delivery of those services.

The role has three dimensions of accountability:

  • Accountability for the effective and efficient delivery of full cycle of the Business Capabilities defined and the management of the Business Delivery Services teams in the BCF tower, Platform or Transversal team and providing a single point of accountability for the Segments globally for any Development and/or Service related issues

  • Member of the Business Delivery Services Management team and fully accountable end to end for product teams under their BCF.

  • Accountability and ownership of strategic mid/long term roadmap, lifecycle management and security compliance of the Applications portfolio

What are we looking for?

  • Typically degree educated with additional professional qualifications

  • Should have a proven track record of delivering results in at least two of the following three areas:

  • Line management

  • Application delivery (project or program level)

  • Application support processes

  • Knowledge of the Mars Segments application environment, ideally within their business functional area

  • Fluent in English

What will be your key responsibilities?

The Business Delivery Services Director responsibilities, delivered in partnership with a 3rd party partner, include:

  • Service Delivery: Ensure effective delivery of BDS Services by collaborating with functional experts to meet business needs and maintain service quality.

  • Financial Management: Oversee budgeting and financial forecasting for your area, ensuring optimal resource use.

  • Agile Leadership: Promote an Agile/DevSecOps mindset across your portfolio, driving transformation initiatives.

  • Compliance Oversight: Ensure applications meet security, data privacy, and audit compliance standards.

  • Team Development: Mentor and support your team, fostering their growth and development.

  • Global Coordination: Lead efforts to improve service performance and operational excellence across global teams.

  • Documentation Management: Create and maintain all relevant documentation for services and processes.

  • Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with business units to ensure alignment on development, service delivery, and customer support.

  • Performance Monitoring: Regularly review service performance and manage risks effectively.
