Salary: Circa £33,500 - £41,800 + Bonus + Benefits
The Associate Engineer Process Development is an important position within Mars Wrigley R&D. This role is part of the Global Process Development and Deployment team and responsible for assisting in the development, design, and deployment of new processes to support global Innovation, Freedom to Operate, and Sustainability programs as well as complex regional projects requiring process development expertise.
The successful candidate will work with the global R&D teams, Engineering, Operations, Commercial and Regional teams to assist in the development of these processes from concept to finished process specifications. The Associate Engineer will have input into the manufacturing process for all products and assist in the development of detailed process specification of any new process for our global factories or co-manufacturers. This role will be part of a team that will provide deep technical process understanding and will consult with the Technology team to develop insights to drive innovation. The incumbent will be responsible for process development activities and is accountable for the execution of the allocated projects.
This position requires technical knowhow to execute several projects, looking at new perspectives to solve existing and new process solutions. As a global Associate Engineer Process Development, this role may work in all product categories, based on the needs of the business.
What are we looking for?
Bachelor of Science or degree equivalent in engineering, chemical engineering or a technical area including chemistry, or food science
Project management skills and a passion for developing new processes
Demonstrable interest in how things are made
Experience working in kitchen, Lab, or pilot plant
Excellent communication skills and learning agility
What will be your key responsibilities?
Delivering process development activities (e.g. DFVS for process)
Execution of the allocated programs to bring project through to commercialisation
Ensuring Process Development inputs are delivered on time
Ensuring process specifications are as accurate as possible to ensure correct costing
Assisting in the delivery of Capacity extension projects globally
Supporting process SMEs, Engineering and Factory Innovation in implementing, Innovating and optimizing current assets.
