
Vessel Operation Associate

Job Description Summary:
Has responsibility to support and monitor vessel operations activities in Chittagong Port , upholding performance KPI and contribute to bottom line by creating/adopting operational excellence.
Job Description
1. Waste reduction: Reducing Arrival / Departure Delay as per target. Continuous improvement on ensuring continuation of vessel operations First lift to Last Lift.
2. Terminal Productivity and Cost reduction: Improving the Actual PMPH versus Target PMPH, calculated in mph, including:
Ensuring no shut-out and re-nomination cost for MSK & CCA, Avoid pilot delay and the extra delay cost, determine efficient and cost-effective method etc.
3. Utilization: Following the priority sequence to deliver COC requirement and followed by Empty Evacuation and NVO/SOC volume utilization as planned.
4. Health, Safety, Security, and the Environment: Proactively involve in monitoring Health & Safety by implementing safety compliance within Port and working environment, including: Ensuring regular daily briefing to the Dock workers, monitor unsafe activities and immediately report to the higher authority
5. Empty evacuation: improving Vessel Empty evacuation, calculated in average TEUs evacuated per vessel, aligned with given target to fulfil weekly basis, monitor CY empty stock and report shift wise, maintain data record to keep accurate information to the stakeholders etc
6. SDR process and cost recovery: by implementing correct SDR process according to SOP in order to reduce the count of damage incident at vessel per year.
7. To monitor and cargo operation on MSK & CCA: ensuring minimum disruption in discharge and load cargo operations, provide import DG sticker timely, and achieve minimum shut-out of export containers which gate-in 6 hours before cargo OPS completed.
8. Operational Efficiency and Project: Improving the operational process through working with relevant peers, successful delivering BAN Operations role be key person to deliver expected performance on day-to-day execution, focal point to liaise for SAS and WCA stakeholder, Ensure smooth execution of the shipment. Delivering Project objectives/ value in stipulated timeline is crucial.
9. Stowage planning: Coordinate with HQ for on time loading plan, keep align Stevedore to follow such, monitor loading plan v. actual loading status, report and update internal stakeholders
10. Compliance: Ensure proper compliance as per policy and adherence to Export/ Import regulations, report non-compliance case to higher authority etc.
11. Communication and Data Management: Crisp, on-time/ Real time communication to all relevant stake holders basis progress, Port Situation, Any unanticipated development, Weather elements , Risks development , Shut/out -No- Show scenario, SDR, CDR , Strike , Closure etc via prescribed channel and format, 24/7 . Also keeping/ maintaining Data log for reporting , analysing and tracking is imperative and a must.
12. Miscellaneous: Manage day to day administrative and operational activities, ensure uninterrupted supply of operational accessories, analyzation and forecasting, manage supply chain & logistics as per the standard working procedure, rendered cross-functional support and on time reporting to the management, meet or exceed established goals relative to on time loading/discharging etc.
