Job Description
Team Manager, Vessel Infrastructure & Connectivity Enablement
About the Role
Our vessels are evolving into highly connected, digitally enabled platforms, and the team behind that transformation is just as critical as the technology itself.
We are looking for a Team Manager to lead and develop the infrastructure that supports vessel operations, IoT ecosystems, and next‑generation energy‑efficient ships.
In this role, you will drive digital enablement by setting clear direction, strengthening team culture, and ensuring engineers have the support and resources to deliver future‑ready solutions.
This is a people-first leadership role with global impact.
What You'll Work On
As part of Fleet Technology – Vessel & Cargo Connectivity, you will guide a team working across:
Onboard digital infrastructure and vessel networks
Fleet-wide IoT platforms enabling energy efficiency and safety
Sensors, devices, and connectivity ecosystems
Integration of new technologies into future green-fueled vessels
Satellite, cellular, and low-power communication systems
Evolution and standardization of vessel IT/OT platforms
You will work in a diverse, international environment where collaboration, inclusion, and professional growth are core values. Your leadership will directly influence how our vessels operate, communicate, and evolve.
Key Responsibilities
This role centers on leading people, shaping direction, and enabling high performance. You will:
Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing engineering team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous learning
Set clear priorities and direction, ensuring alignment between team goals and fleet strategy
Translate business and operational needs into actionable technical initiatives
Guide the deployment and lifecycle management of vessel networks, IoT platforms, sensors, and communication systems
Build strong relationships across Operations, Technology, and Commercial teams
Manage vendor partnerships to ensure quality, performance, and long-term value
Drive standardization and scalability across fleet solutions
Create a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment where people can do their best work
Who We’re Looking For
You are a people-focused leader who brings out the best in others while navigating complex technical environments. You bring:
Experience leading engineering teams, ideally within maritime, industrial IoT, or IT/OT environments
A people-centric leadership style, with strong communication and coaching skills
The ability to create structure, set direction, and maintain focus in a complex, fast-moving environment
Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with a pragmatic and scalable mindset
A collaborative approach, with the ability to build trust and work effectively across functions
Experience with vessel systems or industrial environments is an advantage, but not a requirement
Excellent communication skills in English, with confidence engaging both technical and non-technical audiences
