
Job Description
Team leader, Accounting Operations is responsible for overseeing day-to-day financial transactions with accuracy, ensuring compliance with regulations, accounting principles, and corporate standards. This role manages key areas of accounting operations including cost accounting, budget accounting, accounts payable/receivable, and billing & invoicing. The position combines strong technical knowledge with leadership responsibilities to drive operational excellence, financial integrity, and team performance.
Shift - 6PM to 3 AM (Can be rotational basis business needs)
Experience Required
Minimum 8 years of overall professional experience.
Minimum 2 years of people management experience - leading and managing a team of approximately 25–30 employees.
Proven ability to drive team performance, manage stakeholder expectations, and deliver operational objectives in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Accounting Operations:
Oversee and ensure accuracy in all financial transactions while maintaining compliance with accounting principles and regulatory requirements.
Manage cost accounting activities including allocation and analysis of direct/indirect costs, variance analysis of actual vs. budgeted costs, and reporting.
Supervise accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing, and invoicing functions.
Leadership & Management:
Lead, mentor, and develop a team of accounting professionals and support staff.
Manage the full employee lifecycle, including hiring, coaching, performance reviews, compensation decisions, and career development.
Establish Team goals, policies, and procedures aligned with organizational strategy and objectives.
Adapt Team priorities and allocate resources effectively to address operational challenges.
Strategic Contributions:
Translate business strategies into operational plans and ensure successful implementation.
Contribute to policy and process improvements to enhance efficiency and financial control.
Provide subject matter expertise and guidance to resolve complex or non-routine accounting issues.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment across business functions.
Qualifications & Skills:
In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience in accounting operations, including cost and budget accounting, accounts payable/receivable, and financial reporting.
Strong leadership skills, with a proven track record of managing and leading teams.
Demonstrated ability to analyze financial data, interpret trends, and provide business insights.
Proficient understanding of accounting regulations, standards, and industry practices.
Strong communication, decision-making, and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to work independently while knowing when to seek guidance on complex matters.
Scope & Impact:
Accountable for the performance and results of a team comprising of billers
Leaders at this level manage employees day-to-day and set priorities to ensure task completion.
Managing and collaborating with frontline staff and administrative personnel
Decisions and leadership contribute directly to achieving departmental and organizational objectives.
Role requires balancing short-term operational priorities with long-term strategic development of people, processes, and systems.
