About the Role:
We are looking for an "Operations Supervisor" within our Contract Logistics (CL) division to support the logistics operations for a global cosmetics brand.
In this role, you will be stationed at our partner’s external warehouse in Narashino. Unlike traditional warehouse supervisor roles, this position does not require physical labor. Instead, you will act as a pivotal bridge, managing a 4PL vendor (a team of approx. 20 staff) and communicating directly with our global client to ensure smooth, high-quality logistics operations.
Key Responsibilities:
4PL Vendor Management: Supervise and manage the 4PL vendor to ensure that all requests from the client are executed correctly in accordance with the SLA (Service Level Agreement) and contracts. Collaborate with the 4PL site managers to resolve day-to-day operational issues.
Client Communication & Exception Handling: Act as the primary point of contact for the client’s requests. Accurately transmit these requests to the 4PL managers and coordinate execution.
Cost & Billing Management: Calculate labor hours and costs for out-of-scope tasks or additional operations, and negotiate/manage the billing of these additional costs to the client.
P&L Management & Monthly Reviews: Host and facilitate Monthly Review meetings involving the client and 4PL stakeholders. Review the monthly P&L, report on logistics quality, and propose cost optimization strategies.
Language Requirements:
Japanese: Native level (Essential for smooth negotiation and management with 4PL site managers).
English: Business level (Essential for communication and reporting with the client).
Preferred Qualifications (Nice-to-Haves):
Experience in 4PL management is NOT required. You will be highly welcomed if you have experience in:
Warehouse operations management, progress, and quality control.
Vendor management on the shipper/client side.
P&L management, or experience in creating quotations for additional tasks.
