Job Description
The EMR Operations Specialist is responsible for managing day-to-day Equipment Maintenance & Repair (EMR) operations, ensuring service excellence, operational efficiency, and compliance with established processes and standards. The role involves leading a team, managing stakeholder relationships, driving process improvements, and delivering performance against defined KPIs and SLAs while maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities
Operations Management
- Manage daily EMR operations and ensure delivery of agreed operational KPIs and SLAs.
- Monitor workflow, productivity, and quality to achieve operational targets.
- Handle Disputes and collections for EMR invoices.
- Handle and resolve vendor and Local EMR queries in a timely and professional manner.
- Ensure accurate and timely execution of operational activities related to container maintenance and repair processes.
- Support business continuity through effective workload management and resource planning.
Stakeholder Management
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with vendors, depots, and LOC stakeholders.
- Ensure high levels of customer engagement and satisfaction through proactive communication and issue resolution.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to drive process alignment and operational excellence.
Reporting & Analytics
- Prepare and present weekly and monthly operational performance reports.
- Analyze operational trends and identify opportunities for performance improvement.
- Support management reviews with data-driven insights and recommendations.
Process Excellence & Controls
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of upstream and downstream operational processes.
- Make informed decisions based on the end-to-end operational impact.
- Drive standardization, process optimization, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Review operational processes from a control and compliance perspective and implement appropriate controls.
- Ensure adherence to EMR policies, equipment repair procedures, and industry standards.
Additional Responsibilities
- Support special projects, audits, and ad hoc operational activities as required.
- Contribute to business transformation and automation initiatives.
Position Specifications
Functional Knowledge
- Strong understanding of Shipping Operations and Equipment Maintenance & Repair processes.
- Experience in handling Dry and Reefer Container Maintenance & Repair activities.
- Good understanding of end-to-end liner operations and associated operational frameworks.
- Knowledge of EMR policies and industry repair standards including:
- IICL Standards
- MCIC Standards
- MRIC Standards
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
- Knowledge of systems such as:
- Commet
- RKEM
- GCSS
- MERC+
- Other relevant operational systems (preferred).
- Strong analytical and reporting skills
