Job Description
Location: Guayaquil, Ecuador (South Depot). Must be willing to travel to Puerto Bolívar and Posorja as needed for operational coverage.
Work Modality: 100% on site.
Work schedule:
Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (administrative hours)
Availability for urgent matters outside regular hours (depot operates 24/7)
Occasional weekends (Saturday and Sunday)
The Site Manager is responsible for leading all operational and financial aspects of the depot, ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant performance while meeting customer and contractual requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operations: Oversee productivity, compliance, and continuous improvement.
- Financials: Manage site P&L, budget, and cost optimization.
- Leadership: Supervise 4 direct reports, drive engagement and development.
- Contractors: Ensure compliance, safety, and accurate invoicing.
- HSSE: Maintain legal compliance, investigate incidents, and implement emergency plans.
- Customer Relations: Act as main operational contact and support business reviews.
Qualifications:
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred but not mandatory.
- Technical expertise is prioritized over formal education.
- Experience:
- Minimum 5 years in depot operations, shipping line, or related logistics services.
- Proven leadership experience managing teams and operational performance.
- Skills & Competencies:
- Strong technical knowledge of container structures and repair processes.
- Financial acumen (understanding P&L).
- Ability to work under pressure and adapt to dynamic environments.
- Intermediate English (able to read and respond to emails).
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
