PURPOSE OF ROLE
GSC is responsible for the finance execution of ATR, OTC and STP. As a Functional Process Lead, you are responsible for ensuring that this is done as per standards in most efficient way for your responsible domain.
The functional process lead is responsible to continuously ensure that we are track on deliverables and key metrics across the region and for responsible domain. That includes:
• Daily/weekly check performance management metrics
• Follow up and take actions on any deviations
• Have a clear plan on how to reach the best-in-class targets
As functional process lead you also play an active role in continuously ensure that we are following the standards and that we are process compliant. Equally important is also to challenge the standards and see how we can run our processes even more efficient. For this the functional process lead, as SPOC, plays a key role in the FPO/Key user community and support evaluation and implementation of improvement initiatives
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
PROCESSES & STANDARDIZATION
• Actively drive Standardization of the process domain across Terminals/entities within the region/site responsible. Always with a focus on End-to-End process optimization which also include x-functional work • Responsible to identify potential improvements for standardization, elimination and automation of the process steps, and improved quality of process output. Actively engage with BPEs and peers in ensuring that as APMT we achieve the standardization goals
• Ensure Process Compliance and perform regular Gemba and process confirmations. Identify process gaps and support to bridge the deviations as per standard
• Ensure that there is work instructions (L4) covering all steps of the processes and that they are fit for purpose. Work actively with the BPEs to improve.
• Lead or participate in Kaizens to ensure that performance is improved or that process gaps are closed
• Proactively propose improvements and efficiency enhancements to the processes
• Work closely with the FPOs and BPEs to implement new processes, new standards and improvement initiatives Ensure that any exceptions to the standard processes are well documented and signed off
• Responsible for ensuring that the execution team for respective domain is rightly staffed and that there is an efficiency as per yearly target in the execution team
• Resolve ad hoc queries / request from Terminal HoFs
• Financial statement review & clarification of concerns / queries from stakeholder for Revenue.
• Provide justification on ICP gaps within group. Financial statement review & clarification of concerns / queries from stakeholder for Revenue.
• Ensure Data governance rules are adopted, assess impact on local Data, create local instructions, SOPs related to Data, conduct PCs and provide improvement ideas
• Responsible to submit local exceptions on Data, ensure proper local cross-functional alignment
PERFORMANCE MANAGEMENT & COMPLIANCE
• Track operational metrics/KPIs that measures the success of the responsible domain
• Ensure maximum usage of digital cockpit for performance review
• Owner of the process domains performance and responsible for swift taking actions where there is a risk for underperformance
• Develop clear action plans and closely work with the execution team to improve the performance of operational metrices
• Provide continues feedback to the FPOs on potential gaps and risks in the process execution
• Ensure that the internal controls and baseline controls are covered in the standard processes and that it’s clear on how to execute on them
• Well versed and good understanding of group policies, guidelines, and control framework for adherence
• Ensure that there is a strategic agenda for the year on how to improve execution for respective domain well linked to overall Finance Delivery Promise
CHANGE MANAGEMENT
• Work closely with the execution team to identify opportunities to improve processes and reducing waste from existing process landscape according to the WoW10 governance model. Drive best practice sharing within the process domain community
• Engages the minds and hearts of process users to contribute to improvements through Kaizens & Process Confirmations and feedback to respective domain FPO
• Lead or participate in Kaizens (problem solving sessions) to ensure that performance is improved or that process gaps are closed
• Responsible to test any new changes and to implement changes to process or systems coming from the FPOs
• Take an active role as Key User and participate in community/network to question about process and systems improvements are discussed
• Take an active role in onboarding and training of employees working in the responsible domain.
• Communicating/ creating awareness of the key changes within their domain
• Bridging the gaps between Functional process leads in same domain, other Finance domains and other functions at local level
CRITICAL QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
• Minimum 12-14 years’ experience in respective process domain. Chief Accountant/FNA Manager/Controller in respective functional area of expertise, preferable experience of at least 5 years.
• Strong people leadership skills, experience leading leaders
• Qualified Chartered Accountant and good understanding of IFRS
• Expert domain knowledge of respective processes
• Excellent stakeholder management and collaboration skills
• Experience in delivering results through others (both direct and indirect report)
• Level-headed and effective at change management, capable of pushing back when appropriate and face resistance in a calm and respectful manner
• Good English written and verbal communication, presentation, and facilitation skills
Success in this role will require the ability to find approaches to development that work at scale, across terminals/entities, and while generating commitment through influence rather than formal authority.
