Job Description

Join the wave of growth at Maersk!

At Maersk, we are more than a logistics company—we are a global integrator connecting and simplifying supply chains around the world. As our Global Service Centers (GSC) in the Americas continue to grow and mature, we are strengthening our regional operations capabilities to drive standardization, operational excellence, and continuous improvement across our network.

Here’s the Deal

We are looking for a Regional Operations Subject Matter Expert (SME) to act as a trusted process authority across multiple countries and operational teams. This role will provide expert guidance on regional operations, ensure alignment with global standards, support complex issue resolution, and drive the adoption of consistent processes and best practices. You will work closely with operational leaders, key users, functional teams, and regional stakeholders to improve performance, strengthen controls, and support business transitions and transformation initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support SCP (New Lead Logistics Platform) migrations and implementation activities for new and existing customers, ensuring operational readiness, business adoption, and seamless onboarding.
  • Act as the regional subject matter expert for assigned operational processes, systems, and ways of working
  • Provide guidance to operational teams and stakeholders on process execution, standards, controls, and business requirements
  • Drive process standardization across countries and locations while identifying and managing justified local exceptions
  • Monitor operational KPIs, service levels, quality indicators, and process compliance; identify gaps and coordinate corrective actions
  • Lead root-cause analysis and support the resolution of complex operational issues and escalations
  • Maintain and improve SOPs, work instructions, process maps, training materials, and knowledge documentation
  • Support business transitions, new process implementations, system changes, and stabilization activities
  • Identify opportunities for automation, simplification, waste reduction, and continuous improvement through Lean and Kaizen methodologies
  • Facilitate training, coaching, and knowledge-sharing sessions for key users and operational teams
  • Partner with regional and global stakeholders to ensure operational priorities are aligned with customer and business needs
  • Support audits, controls, governance reviews, and compliance activities by providing process expertise and documentation
  • Represent the regional user community in process governance forums and transformation projects

The Basics

  • Academic Background: Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, International Trade, Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain, or a related field
  • Years of Experience: 3-5 years of experience in lead logistics, customer experience, supply chain, terminal, or shared-service operations, including experience as a process expert, super user, or operational lead
  • Software: ERP or operational systems, Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and reporting or visualization tools; experience with Power BI is a plus
  • Technical Skills: End-to-end process knowledge, KPI management, root-cause analysis, SOP development, process governance, and continuous improvement
  • English Level: B2–C1, with the ability to collaborate effectively across countries and seniority levels

Competencies

  • Strong Stakeholder Management
  • Operational Excellence Mindset
  • Analytical Thinking and Structured Problem Solving
  • Influence Without Authority
  • Clear Communication and Facilitation
  • Customer Focus
  • Ownership and Accountability
  • Adaptability and Resilience
  • Collaboration Across Cultures and Functions
  • Continuous Improvement and Change Management

What We Offer

At Maersk, we offer exciting global career opportunities that foster both professional and personal growth. You will be part of a diverse, inclusive, and values-driven environment where collaboration, operational excellence, and continuous learning are encouraged. We provide competitive compensation and benefits, along with access to global development programs designed to help you unlock your full potential as part of high-performing teams.

Please consider that, due to local regulations and legal guidelines regarding foreign employment, we can only consider Mexican workers for our Americas Hub based in Mexico City.
