About the Role
As the Regional Head of Procurement, Equipment, Storage & Automation, you will lead procurement strategy across one of the most critical areas of Maersk’s Contract Logistics business in North America. Reporting to the Regional Head of Procurement, L&S, you will drive value creation, sourcing excellence, supplier performance, and investment governance across categories including material handling equipment (MHE), container handling equipment (CHE), racking systems, sorters, robotics, drones, yard tractors, and other warehouse infrastructure.
Working closely with Operations, Solution Engineering, Finance, Asset Management, and Global Category Managers, you will help shape strategic investment decisions while ensuring procurement remains a key partner in supporting scalable growth, operational transformation, and innovation across Maersk’s warehouse network. You will also lead and develop a high-performing team while championing best-in-class procurement practices, supplier collaboration, and sustainability initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
Strategy & Value Creation
Translate global category strategies into regionally tailored sourcing strategies aligned with business growth and cost leadership objectives.
Drive measurable value creation through strategic sourcing, supplier relationship management, should-cost models, benchmarking, and customer insights.
Embed a Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) mindset and advance sourcing practices toward best-in-class standards.
Leadership & Capability Building
Build, lead, and develop a high-performing, data-driven, and engaged procurement team.
Foster a strong performance management culture that attracts, develops, and retains top talent.
Establish structured training and capability-building plans that support knowledge sharing and long-term business continuity.
CAPEX Governance & Investment Discipline
Lead and actively shape Investment Proposals (IPs), ensuring robust cost accuracy, benchmarking, and risk assessment.
Challenge assumptions and strengthen governance throughout the CAPEX investment process.
Partner with Finance and Operations to improve transparency, accountability, and investment outcomes.
Sourcing Execution & Commercial Management
Drive sourcing excellence through the execution of RFPs, supplier selection, and contract negotiations.
Negotiate and implement framework agreements in collaboration with Global Category Managers.
Ensure Procurement is engaged early in projects to influence design choices, specifications, and commercial outcomes.
Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) & Market Intelligence
Establish and lead a robust supplier relationship management framework focused on performance, innovation, and long-term value creation.
Deliver market intelligence and data-driven insights that support strategic decision-making and risk mitigation.
Asset Lifecycle & Sustainability
Partner with Operations and Asset Management teams to optimize inventory and equipment lifecycle management processes.
Support the deployment of scalable, efficient, and future-ready equipment and automation solutions.
Lead initiatives supporting decarbonization goals, including fleet electrification and equipment circularity.
Planning, Governance & Performance Management
Develop and execute the annual Procurement Gameplan, ensuring clear accountability and delivery against objectives.
Strengthen governance, internal controls, and compliance with company policies and frameworks.
Own and manage the SG&A budget for the team.
Ad Hoc Strategic Initiatives
Lead and support strategic value-creation and transformation initiatives as required by senior leadership.
Who We Are Looking For

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field; MBA or equivalent advanced degree preferred.
10+ years of experience across Engineering, Warehousing Operations, Supply Chain, and/or Procurement.
Proven experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, or vendor management within capital-intensive environments.
Demonstrated success leading complex CAPEX projects and driving investment rigor through ROI, NPV, and payback methodologies.
Strong commercial acumen, including contract negotiations, should-cost modelling, and value creation delivery.
Technical understanding of material handling equipment, warehouse automation technologies, and warehouse design principles.
Proven ability to build, lead, and develop high-performing teams across geographies and seniority levels.
Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence senior leaders in a matrixed organization.
Analytical and data-driven approach with a high degree of ownership, integrity, and accountability.

Salary: $150,000 – $190,000*
*The stated pay range is the anticipated starting salary and may be adjusted based on market conditions, experience, and location. Final compensation will be discussed directly with the selected candidate(s) in compliance with all applicable laws.
