Job Description

Maersk Project Logistics (MPL) delivers end‑to‑end solutions for oversized, high‑value, and complex project cargo requiring specialized planning, handling, and execution. MPL integrates global capabilities to support customers across energy, industrial, and infrastructure sectors with safe, compliant, and reliable project delivery.

The Regional Head of QHSE plays a critical leadership role in shaping, driving, and embedding a strong safety and compliance culture across Maersk Project Logistics (MPL) in Europe. This role ensures that our operations remain safe, compliant, resilient, and aligned to global QHSE standards while supporting customers with world‑class project logistics solutions. The role refers to the Regional Head of MPL EUR and is part of the regional leadership team.

Key Responsibilities

QHSE Governance & Management System

  • Own and continuously improve the Regional MPL QHSE Management System, ensuring alignment with the certified global QHSE system.
  • Ensure compliance with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001 and support adherence to GDP requirements.
  • Develop and implement regional QHSE processes that support certification and operational excellence.

Audit, Assurance & Compliance

  • Conduct internal and supplier audits according to the annual plan, ensuring corrective actions are implemented.
  • Ensure the region is fully prepared for supplier, ISO, and center‑led audits.
  • Act as escalation point for QHSE non‑compliances and final decision authority on vendor QHSE approval.

Risk, Incident & Performance Management

  • Prepare the quarterly regional QHSE report including performance metrics and evaluation against targets.
  • Lead investigations and closure of high‑severity incidents in collaboration with Global QHSE.
  • Provide leadership with risk insights and improvement opportunities.

Operational QHSE & Customer/Project Assurance

  • Provide operational and onsite QHSE support to MPL teams.
  • Support project‑specific QHSE requirements such as risk assessments, lifting operations documentation, and method statements.
  • Prepare QHSE components for tender responses and customer assurance documentation.
  • Actively contribute to the global QHSE community and ensure alignment with global priorities.
  • Lead end‑to‑end contractor and vendor QHSE management across the region.

Continuous Improvement & Capability Building

  • Drive regional QHSE improvement programs.
  • Build competence and coach regional/local teams in QHSE behaviors and processes.
  • Promote a strong QHSE culture through leadership engagement and continuous learning.

What We Are Looking For

  • 3–5 years of experience in QHSE, preferably within project logistics or complex operational environments.
  • Strong knowledge of ISO 9001, 14001, 45001 and understanding of GDP requirements.
  • Experience with operational QHSE, risk management, and incident investigation.
  • Ability to influence and engage stakeholders across multiple levels and functions.
  • Strong communication, coaching, and facilitation skills.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
