Job Description

To systematically transform market intelligence into actionable growth drivers. This role proactively maps Chinese investment across the Mekong region (Vietnam, Thailand, Cambodia, Myanmar), generates qualified sales leads, and builds key channel relationships (e.g., Chinese Chambers of Commerce) to directly fuel the team’s commercial pipeline. The role ensures that our client development is structured, data-driven, and proactive rather than fragmented and reactive.

Key Responsibilities:

1/ Drive Market Intelligence & Lead Generation outcomes:

  • Systematically monitor and analyze Chinese corporate investment announcements (greenfield, M&A, expansions) across Mekong countries.

  • Deliver quarterly “China Investment Outlook – Mekong” report with prioritized target lists, investment timelines, and key contacts.

  • Generating a monthly pipeline of validated, high potential leads for sales to engage.

  • Maintain a dynamic “target client mapping dashboard” by industry, investment stage, and logistics need

2/ Develop and sustain strategic channel relationships

  • Actively manage relationships with key Chinese chambers of commerce (Vietnam, Thailand, Cambodia).

  • Become a trusted member to gain early insights, co-host events, and generate direct client access.

  • Coordinate joint activities (seminars, networking sessions) with chambers to position Maersk as the preferred logistics partner.

3/ Provide internal strategic support:

  • Feed market intelligence into solutions to localization, pricing, and resource planning.

  • Collaborate with the sales and COA Ecosystem & PMO to align lead generation with solution design and partner capabilities.

  • Support the team’s strategic planning with data-backed insights on Chinese investment trends and competitor movements.

4/ Accountable For:

  • Quality, timeliness, and actionability of market intelligence deliverables.

  • Lead generation pipeline (volume and quality).

  • Chamber relationship health and engagement outcomes.

  • CRM (SFDC) data hygiene for all leads generated

Who Are We Looking For

  • Fluent in English & Chinese (Mandarin) – written and spoken – is a must.

  • 2–3 years of experience in market research, business intelligence, sales support, or a related field. Experience in logistics is a plus but not required.

  • Basic understanding of corporate investment or trade flows (can be developed on the job).

  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with external organizations (chambers, trade bodies, etc.).

  • Good analytical skills and comfortable working with data (Excel, basic dashboards).

  • Self-motivated, willing to learn, and able to work with minimal supervision.

  • Good communication skills in English (working level).

  • Willingness to travel within the Mekong region.
