We are integrating new technologies and advanced systems to unlock operational efficiencies. We are now looking for permanent colleagues to sustainably anchor key Management roles within our own organization.

The Role

As Terminal Planning Manager, you are responsible for developing operational strategies that transform the business to become safer, more efficient, customer centric and profitable.

  • Team: You lead a team of 3-4 Assistant Managers.

  • Reporting: You report to the Strategy and Planning Director.

  • Strategy: Shape the terminal’s competitive position by designing forward‑looking solutions that expand safe berth and yard capacity while adapting to evolving market demands. Partner across functions to unlock the full value of operational technologies and information systems, ensuring the terminal delivers reliable, data‑driven, and best‑in‑class service to its customers.

What will you do?

  • Maintain safety and environmental policies.
  • Lead and coordinate high-volume terminal operations while overseeing 1.4M+ annual container lifts and 12+ weekly vessel calls through advanced planning.
  • Area of scope include setting appointment strategy, berth planning, capacity planning, managing ocean carrier SLAs, and optimizing terminal yard layout.
  • Strengthen customer relationships by leading operational review meetings to align on performance, address service requirements, share improvements, and reinforce long-term partnership value.
  • Drive operational strategy and continuous improvement by executing short- and long-term plans that integrate safety, efficiency, and technology optimization across all areas.
  • Govern quality and process management by maintaining standardized documentation, process maps, validations, and performance evaluations to sustain and elevate operations.
  • Develop mid to longterm operational plans using TOS-driven insights and data analytics to maximize equipment utilization, eliminate waste, and advance productivity through annual Kaizen initiatives.
  • Model and simulate operational scenarios using historical data and operational parameters to optimize asset utilization, increase throughput, and reduce costs in coordination with global APMT teams.
  • Provide hands-on, safetyfocused leadership to ensure policy-compliant, productive workforce practices and a culture of accountability and operational excellence.
  • Grow operational leadership talent by mentoring Assistant Operations Managers and coordinating development opportunities that build strong capability and a sustainable pipeline.

What are we looking for?

  • Education: A relevant bachelor’s degree is preferred.

  • Experience: 5+ years of relevant experience in planning and people leadership (port equipment experience is a plus).

  • Leadership: An inspiring connector with a "can-do" mentality and strong communication skills. Demonstrates a strong self-initiative and motivation.

  • Skills: Technical and operational skills, analytical and continuous Improvement, Strong communication and collaboration skills, and organizational skills.

Able to drive through and navigate the Terminal and may need to travel across the US & Canada and occasionally overseas. Work is occasionally required outdoors on Terminal. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may have to withstand exposure to outdoor/adverse working conditions. Must be able to work variable shifts including evenings & weekends when necessary.
