Purpose of the role
The role is responsible for supporting day-to-day landside operations by executing standardized operational, administrative, and technical activities related to truck and rail transportation of cargo and containers. The position involves coordinating and monitoring assigned transport activities, maintaining accurate operational information, following established processes, and supporting timely execution of landside operations. The role requires the ability to work independently within defined guidelines, resolve routine issues, and escalate non-routine matters when required.
You will be Responsible for
- Managing assigned landside operational activities related to truck and rail transportation of cargo and containers.
- Coordinating and monitoring transport activities to support timely and efficient movement of cargo.
- Executing standardized operational and administrative processes in accordance with established procedures and guidelines.
- Tracking assigned shipments, transport milestones, and operational activities to ensure accurate and timely execution.
- Maintaining accurate operational records, documentation, and system information related to landside transportation.
- Coordinating with internal and external stakeholders to support smooth execution of transport activities.
- Handling routine operational queries, follow-ups, and exceptions within defined processes.
- Identifying operational issues and taking appropriate corrective actions within established guidelines.
- Escalating non-routine or complex operational issues to experienced colleagues or supervisors for resolution.
- Applying job-related technical and practical knowledge to execute assigned operational activities effectively.
- Supporting process adherence and ensuring compliance with defined operational standards and procedures.
- Adapting to changes in processes, systems, and operational requirements through job-related training and on-the-job experience.
- Ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and quality across assigned landside operations activities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business Administration, Operations, or a related discipline.
- Relevant experience in Landside Operations, Logistics, Transportation, Supply Chain, or Operations is preferred.
- Basic understanding of truck and rail transportation processes and cargo/container movement.
- Knowledge of standardized operational procedures and work routines.
- Good attention to detail and accuracy in handling operational data and documentation.
- Ability to work independently within defined processes and guidelines.
- Good communication and coordination skills.
- Ability to identify routine operational issues and escalate non-routine matters appropriately.
- Willingness to learn and develop job-specific technical and operational knowledge.
- Basic proficiency in MS Office applications, particularly Excel.
