Job Description

Regional Head of Feeder Procurement - Europe

We are looking for a Head of Feeder Procurement to join our Ocean Procurement team, as part of our Europe TbM and Global Procurement organization, reporting to the Head of Procurement and Strategic Partnerships, Europe.

This is a high-impact role in a dynamic and transforming environment where you will directly influence Maersk’s regional ocean cost structure, network reliability, and customer service levels through the management of the Europe Feeder Procurement portfolio.

We Offer

As the Head of Feeder Procurement – Europe, you will be responsible for owning, driving and optimizing the procurement spend and strategic supplier relationships for all feeder services across Europe. This includes managing a large portfolio of regional and global vendors, driving performance and cost optimization, and ensuring feeder capacity aligns with service reliability and growth ambitions.

You will own the development and execution of the regional sourcing strategy in alignment with global feeder category playbooks, while also playing a key role in shaping the feeder network.

You will have the opportunity to manage procurement projects tied to Ocean network transformation, port connectivity, schedule reliability, logistics and services thus contributing to Maersk’s strategy of becoming the global integrator of container logistics.

You will be part of a diverse regional leadership team and work closely with cross-functional stakeholders across Network, Operations, Finance, Global Category Management, Contract Management, Energy Transition and Sustainability teams as well as with the wider Feeder and Global Procurement communities to ensure alignment and knowledge sharing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own and drive the Europe Feeder Procurement strategy and supplier portfolio, with accountability for cost, service performance, and risk mitigation.
  • Develop and implement sourcing strategies that support network design, schedule reliability, and regional market competitiveness.
  • Lead commercial negotiations and establish best-in-class feeder agreements that drive value for Maersk.
  • Manage feeder supplier relationships, including structured performance reviews, KPIs, and corrective actions.
  • Support the execution of Ocean network design and cost optimization initiatives in close alignment with Centre functions.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Operations, Logistics & Services, Legal, ESG, and Finance to ensure a consistent and value-focused approach to feeder sourcing.
  • Enable innovation and supplier development to meet future requirements, including decarbonization and digital integration.
  • Drive standardization, digitization, and value realization within the feeder procurement category.
  • Lead a team of regional procurement professionals and foster a collaborative, high-performance culture.
  • Represent the category in global forums and contribute to global procurement community initiatives.

Who we are looking for

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree; Master's degree is a plus.
  • 8–10 years of experience in procurement, shipping, or maritime logistics, with a strong understanding of short-sea and feeder networks.
  • Demonstrated leadership in complex procurement initiatives, with the ability to influence and drive outcomes across project teams – with or without direct authority.
  • Strong commercial and negotiation acumen, ideally within the marine domain.
  • Strong analytical mindset, with the ability to interpret complex data and drive fact-based decision making
  • Proven experience with supplier relationship management, supplier performance frameworks, market intelligence, and cost modeling.
  • Exposure to ESG and sustainable procurement practices is an advantage.
  • Solid financial and legal acumen to support robust commercial decision-making.
  • Ability to constructively challenge status quo and steer teams toward impactful change.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to navigate senior internal and external stakeholders.
  • Clear ambassador of Maersk values and leadership behaviors in a visible and consistent manner.
