
First Mile Product Manager
Job Description
Job Overview
Own the full lifecycle of domestic multimodal transport products, including rail-sea, rail-road, road-water combined transport. Develop competitive lane solutions, manage carrier partnerships, drive product profitability and support sales team to achieve the target.
Key Responsibilities
- Product Development & Route Expansion
Design, price and launch multimodal lane products .expand transport network &develop dedicated intermodal packages for different industries .
- Carrier & Supplier Management
Negotiate rates, capacity agreements and service terms with all the suppliers, manage supplier portfolio, identify duplicate vendors and optimize procurement costs.
- Profit & Margin Control
Analyze product cost structure, monitor gross margin performance; optimize low-margin client schemes, adjust pricing strategies to lift overall product profitability.
Customer & Cross-team Collaboration
Collect pain points from sales & operation teams, tailor multimodal solutions to protect plant uptime, Market & Competitor Analysis
Research industry trends, intermodal competitor offerings; tie product cases to lane complexity, network scale and mode mix to demonstrate operational improvement evidence.
- Product Evangelism
Deliver internal product training; prepare introduction materials for multimodal offerings; act as key contact for high-priority client tender projects.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, International Trade or related majors;
- 3–5 years proven intermodal transport product experience. In-depth knowledge of China railway, ocean and highway transport rules, lane operations and customs clearance procedures is preferred.
- Solid experience in rate negotiation, cost analysis and product pricing; strong commercial awareness of high/low margin account management.
- Familiar with TMS transport management systems; able to coordinate IT teams to iterate functional demands.
- Fluent written & spoken English; excellent cross-department communication and problem-solving skills.
