Job Description

As a Financial Operations (FinOps) Agent, the role is primarily responsible for maintaining accurate and timely job-level cost and revenue updates within Maersk systems. These systems serve as the backbone for tracking financial performance, enabling timely supplier payments, and ensuring accurate customer billing.
Beyond meeting defined KPIs, the role offers significant scope for ownership and impact. The incumbent is expected to actively shape and expand the role by engaging with multiple stakeholders including vendors, customers, and internal teams and collaboratively driving solutions across the end-to-end financial operations process.
This position plays a critical role in ensuring financial accuracy, operational efficiency, and strong stakeholder alignment across all financial operational activities.

  •  Ensure operational financial KPIs are consistently met, including timely invoicing, job closures, and vendor payments. Functional system knowledge is not required at entry level, as full training will be provided by Maersk.
  •  Take end-to-end ownership of accurate job costing for all assigned transactions, ensuring customer invoices are raised accurately and on time in line with agreed rates and service contracts.
  •  Maintain accurate and timely cost updates within Maersk systems, working closely with relevant stakeholders to resolve any discrepancies related to service charges or job costing.
  •  Maintain and manage an internal tracker for FINOPS job numbers to ensure transparency and effective tracking of transactions.
  •  Proactively coordinate across departments to enable smooth operations, efficient workflows, and high service delivery standards.
  •  Analyse operational and financial data using reports and dashboards to identify issues early and drive timely resolution.
  •  Execute assigned strategic and operational tasks as directed by the Team Leader, leveraging available resources effectively.
  •  Monitor and deliver performance against defined KPIs and targets, ensuring adherence to performance expectations.
  •  Actively contribute to process improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing efficiency and overall stakeholder experience.

Skills and Competencies Required

  •  Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Data Management, Finance, or a related discipline.
  •  Strong digital mindset with a solid orientation toward data management and analytical working methods.
  •  2–3 years of experience in a customer-facing, entry-level finance and accounting role.
  •  Effective and engaging communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with both external stakeholders and internal teams.
  •  Fluency in English (spoken and written).
  •  Demonstrated ability to analyze and leverage data to support business decisions and drive measurable outcomes.
  •  Strong collaborative mindset; a team player who focuses on financial accuracy and customer outcomes while constructively challenging the status quo.
  •  Working knowledge of shipping, freight forwarding, 4PL products, and end-to-end supply chain operations.

 Prior exposure to SAP or similar enterprise financial/operational systems is preferred.
