About APM Terminals Mumbai (GTI)

APM Terminals Mumbai, also known as Gateway Terminals India (GTI), is India’s busiest container terminal, handling a significant share of the nation’s containerized trade. Located at Jawaharlal Nehru Port (Nhava Sheva), GTI is known for its advanced infrastructure, cutting-edge technology, and commitment to efficient, safe, and sustainable operations.

The Role: Executive – Roster

As Executive – Roster, you will play a crucial role in ensuring smooth terminal operations by effectively planning and managing workforce schedules. You will be responsible for preparing and administering rosters for operational staff, managing attendance and overtime, supporting training programs, and ensuring compliance with company systems and processes. This role requires a balance of attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to coordinate closely with operations teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare daily/monthly work schedules for Terminal Equipment Operators (TEOs) and other operational staff.

  • Administer annual leave, overtime, and shift adjustments through the Time & Attendance system (Kronos).

  • Monitor attendance, sick leave, absenteeism, and resolve system issues in coordination with IT.

  • Collaborate with Shift Managers and Berth Coordinators to optimize manpower and resource allocation.

  • Support payroll processes by validating attendance and incentive data and submitting inputs to HR.

  • Manage incentive calculations through TRU BI and prepare monthly reports.

  • Liaise with Training and HR teams to provide staff for courses and development programs.

  • Maintain performance records for TEOs and share inputs for reviews.

Qualifications & Skills

  • High school diploma required; a college degree is preferred.

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience as a timekeeper or in manpower planning, preferably in a container terminal/transport industry.

  • Strong knowledge of timekeeping methods, attendance systems, and basic accounting.

  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Access).

  • Familiarity with Kronos, TRU BI, or other attendance/resource planning systems.

  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and numerical aptitude.

  • Good verbal and written communication skills in English and local language.
