Key responsibilities
Manage vendors to ensure timely customs declarations, adherence to KPIs, and full compliance with company SOPs.
Coordinate the daily flow of documentation, ensuring all required permits and Other Government Agency (OGA) approvals are obtained prior to customs submission.
Manage pre‑ and post‑clearance activities, including accurate billing, coordination of duty and tax disbursements, and digital filing of approved permits.
Proactively identify potential customs clearance bottlenecks and engage clients early to resolve issues, minimising risks of port storage or demurrage.
Maintain and govern the Client SOP repository, ensuring customer‑specific requirements are accurate and kept up to date.
Ensure customs clearance submissions are timely, complete, and accurate.
Demonstrate strong working knowledge of K1, K2, K8, K9, and ZB declaration processes; FTA‑related knowledge is an added advantage.
Enforce full compliance with the company’s high‑performance standards, particularly in customer service delivery.
Ensure smooth and timely customs clearance for customer import and export shipments.
Possess a strong understanding of departmental process flows, with a continuous focus on identifying opportunities for efficiency improvement.
We’re looking for
2–4 years of experience in freight forwarding or customs customer service, with strong attention to detail and effective communication skills.
Minimum 1 year of relevant experience in customs house brokerage or a related field.
Proficiency in English; additional local language skills are an advantage.
Computer literate with the ability to work with operational and documentation systems.
Possession of at least a Professional Certificate, Diploma, Advanced/Higher/Graduate Diploma, Bachelor’s Degree, Postgraduate Diploma, or Professional Degree in Logistics/Transportation, Business Studies, Administration, Management, or an equivalent discipline.
Basic understanding of customs processes in Malaysia.
Basic knowledge of Malaysian customs regulations and laws, including HS codes, Certificates of Origin (C/O), and customs privileges or exemptions.
Applicants must be willing to work in Port Klang Free Zone (PKFZ).
