Job Title:

Multi-Equipment Operator (Cherry Picker / Farana Crane / Mobile Crane / Forklift)

Location: Pipavav Port (Amreli), Gujurat
Department: Workshop / Asset Management
Reporting To: Supervisor – Workshop

Job Purpose:

To safely and efficiently operate multiple types of material handling and lifting equipment, including cherry pickers, Farana/mobile cranes, and forklifts, ensuring smooth workshop and operational activities while adhering to all safety and compliance standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate cherry picker, Farana crane, mobile crane, and forklift for lifting, shifting, and positioning of materials and equipment.
  • Ensure safe handling of loads in compliance with standard operating procedures and safety guidelines.
  • Perform pre-start and routine equipment inspections to ensure operational readiness.
  • Report any mechanical issues, defects, or unsafe conditions immediately to the supervisor.
  • Follow all HSSE (Health, Safety, Security & Environment) guidelines and promote a strong safety culture.
  • Maintain proper documentation such as logbooks, checklists, and equipment usage records.
  • Assist in minor maintenance activities in coordination with the workshop team.
  • Ensure efficient utilization of equipment to minimize downtime and improve productivity.
  • Support workshop and operational teams during maintenance, breakdowns, and project activities.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Minimum 12th Pass or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Valid Heavy Vehicle Driving License with authorization to operate lifting equipment.

Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in operating:
    • Cherry Picker
    • Farana Crane / Mobile Crane
    • Forklift

Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong understanding of equipment operation and safety protocols.
  • Ability to handle heavy loads with precision and care.
  • Basic knowledge of mechanical systems and troubleshooting.
  • Good awareness of workplace safety and hazard identification.
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented and high-pressure environment.
  • Good communication and reporting skills.

Certifications & Additional Requirements:

  • Relevant operator training / certification for lifting equipment is preferred.
  • Mandatory medical fitness certificate, including:
    • Fit for operating heavy machinery
    • No fear of working at heights
  • Good eyesight, hand-eye coordination, and physical fitness.

Work Environment:

  • Workshop and field operational areas.
  • May involve working at heights and handling heavy machinery.
  • Rotational shifts may be required.
