Job Purpose/summary :
The Continuous Improvement (CI) Senior Specialist is accountable for driving enterprise value through outcome‑driven, customer‑centric execution excellence in close partnership with operations/execution teams. This role represents an embedded CI capability within the business, owning problems end‑to‑end, delivering measurable impact, and building self‑sufficient teams that institutionalize operational excellence as part of the organization’s DNA through the deployment of The Maersk Way, aligned to enterprise priorities.
The CI Senior Specialist acts as a business partner to your aligned leaders & teams, problem owner, and change leader, directly aligned to business KPIs and enterprise priorities, enabling improved customer experience and enhanced product performance.
Key Responsibilities:
Operate as an embedded CI business partner to operations/execution teams, aligned to business KPIs and respective leaders’ scorecards.
Act as a trusted partner to business leaders within the assigned area of focus, with joint accountability for outcomes.
Own problems end‑to‑end and deliver measurable outcomes; champion data‑driven, fact‑based problem definition and resolution, ensuring clarity on root causes prior to solutioning.
Lead deployment of the Maersk Operating System (MOS), including daily stand‑ups and performance connects, ensuring alignment, accountability, and execution discipline from frontline to leadership.
Actively participate in the GSC Continuous Improvement community, sharing current good practices and driving standardization.
Continuously streamline and improve processes with a strong focus on automation, ensuring initiatives are effectively implemented and sustained; contribute ideas to enhance digital solutions.
Drive Process Entitlement in operations/execution teams by identifying, achieving, and sustaining best‑possible performance under optimal conditions, unlocking measurable business value.
Own and deploy Execution Excellence practices of The Maersk Way (TMW)
Coordinate coaching, maturity assessments, and progress tracking against TMW maturity criteria.
Achieving 50% L3 process coverage through lead indicators & MOS elements.
Driving leadership routine adoption (Visual Management, structured problem solving, performance routines), ensuring TMW certification and cadence adherence.
Building capability through A3, Kaizen, and Visual Management penetration; developing TMW Champions across functions.
Monitoring active A3s per L3 process, linkage to RED KPIs, and throughput to countermeasure deployment.
Ensuring Visual Management boards are live and regularly updated, with bowler charts tracking SQC metrics.
Confirming standard work readiness (SOPs, controls, baseline metrics) aligned to TMW standards
Qualifications:
Must have Skills:
Strong continuous improvement mindset with hands‑on experience in process improvements
End‑to‑end process understanding with strong analytical skills and a structured problem‑solving approach
High attention to detail with a strong focus on quality, controls, and compliance
Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and deliver results under pressure in a multicultural environment
Good working knowledge of MS Office and operational systems
Strong communication skills with fluency in English (written and verbal)
Proven ability to build and maintain strong business relationships
Collaborative, proactive, and self‑motivated working style
Relevant degree or equivalent qualification
Experience in logistics or supply chain environments
Demonstrated CI mindset with relevant process improvement project experience; Lean and/or Six Sigma certification is preferred
