Coastal Lead

About the role:

In this exciting position you'll play a key role in delivering on our promise to customers by ensuring reliable first and last mile delivery!

You'll be working on commercial goals and operational performance.

Ensuring cargo is loaded and delivered on time, as well as discharged, in line with customer expectations and plans.

You'll gain customer trust by providing accurate and realistic vessel schedules and coordinating proactively with partners to maintain seamless service.

You'll also manage procurement and control costs (Container Yard, Port Expenses and Foreign Feeder); ensuring that equipment is available for our customers where and when needed.

This position is part of the Europe TbM (Transported by Maersk) business unit. Europe TbM is an engaged team who are ultimately responsible to deliver the promise that Maersk makes to our customers. We put the customer first in every action taken. The Europe TbM is an international and diverse environment with approximately 450 colleagues located in offices in various locations throughout Europe. Europe TbM primary office is based in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, with a satellite office based in Algeciras, Spain.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive a strong customer experience and support the commercial growth agenda through executing a reliable network.
  • Drive cargo reliability with feeder operators and ensure that connections at hub ports are protected.
  • Maintain feeder schedules to allow for accurate planning across the Maersk business thereby ensuring customers have reliable information on their cargo arrival and departure times.
  • Proactively manage bookings vs vessel allocation ensuring to optimize vessels and network toward demand.
  • Own, manage and communicate all contingencies related to your services, keeping the customer impact at the center of your decisions.
  • Achieve high utilization across all your services through forecast management and downfall analysis.
  • Plan for seasonality changes with feeder operators, commercial desks, Areas, ROM, etc., so that demand is met and network is optimized.
  • Support the execution of empty flow through close collaboration with the equipment team.
  • Drive for improvement of upstream processes contributing to a positive customer experience and improved cost leadership.

Who we are looking for:

  • Logistics experience within the maritime industry.
  • Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Maritime Studies, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
  • Proven problem-solving skills and the ability to act quickly in high-pressure situations.
  • You are driven by creating the best customer outcome and who displays customer centricity through all communication.
  • You drive quality and the improvement of products and services.
  • Demonstrated ability to foresee and mitigate potential logistics disruptions.
  • You understand the importance of team work to achieve results.
  • You dare to make challenging decisions.
  • You take ownership and are comfortable dealing with ambiguity and complexity.
  • You foster teamwork and brings stakeholders together.
  • You are fluent in English. Spanish and French would be a plus!
