Job Description

Based in Ho Chi Minh City or Bangkok. His/her responsibility are as follows:
- The market manager is responsible to realize the area business plan by delivering ocean targets and enabling value creation for customers and end-to-end solutions. They take active role to lead the Ocean transformation, deliver the most trusted Ocean network and is responsible for the area ocean direction setting. The market manager identifies and implement initiatives to deliver a superior customer experience and logistics and services growth.
- Act as the market expert in the Area and engage actively with Trade team in Singapore or Shanghai on market developments and ocean opportunities.

Expectation

  • Able to do research, analysis and assessment of information and market data to drive right behaviours and performance for Vietnam and Cambodia.

  • Follow up on market intelligence to improve performance.

  • Provide directions and guidelines to other other teams to push for performance.

  • Actively provide updates and market feedback to Revenue Managers and Trade Market Managers.

  • Regular analysis on the low performance area and address accordingly.

  • Coordinate with other departments for smooth target delivery.

  • Provide input and feedback regarding network designed for Mekong Area.

  • Teamwork not only within Ocean Product but also with other departments.

  • Actively contribute initiatives to support process improvements.

  • Willing to switch tasks within Area Market scope as and when required.

Principal Accountabilities/ Responsibilities

Direction Setting, Performance Management and Execution:

  • Set the direction for Area commercial teams and leadership team on Ocean. Adopt and communicate Trade strategies to the Area and enhance execution.

  • Ensure Volume and Revenue are being delivered to target.

  • Deliver Trade model ship for the assigned markets as per direction from Trade Market team.

  • Assist in Tender season planning and create Ocean local value propositions as a tool for Tender approach.

  • Act as Ocean escalation point for the assigned Area Trade/ market.

  • Engage with Revenue Managers/ Trade Market Managers and Sales on market feedback and recommendations to maximize performance (volume and profit).

  • Engage Area Sales on business development opportunities around customer and product improvement suggestions.

  • Coordinate with other teams to execute Go-to-Market plan with Sales, make sure we have sufficient support to deliver performance (Equipment, operations, etc.).

  • Ensure compliance with all commercial processes.

  • Provide market intelligence data and analysis to drive performance. Provide analysis to support performance management.

  • Provide feedback on Area Ocean Network wishlist and design as and when required.

  • Other tasks as assigned by Senior Market Manager.

  • Participating in project implementation as additional assignment when required.

Enabling the Integrator

  • Provide intelligence on market trends in the Area to highlight value-added opportunities, changes in demand patterns, etc

  • Supports the customer transformation strategy to increase L&S penetration, including Ocean VAS of the Area Ocean portfolio

  • Drive the Area business plan and advocate for the area level interest with key stakeholders (CPM, Network, CEN teams, Trade team, local stakeholders, etc.).

Skills required:

  • Minimum 7 years of experience in shipping/ logistics or relevant industry.

  • Knowledge & experience about ocean and logistics products/ pricing.

  • English language proficiency.

  • Excellent analytical skills, with a high interest and flair in market analysis

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Strength in organizing, planning, prioritizing and managing multiple tasks within set deadlines. Able to work both independently or as a team player.

  • Strong stakeholder management skill.

  • Proactiveness: identification of what needs to be done and doing it before being asked or before the situation warrants it. Take ownership.

  • Result oriented: able to drive for results and success, conveys a sense of urgency and drives issues to closure, persists despite obstacles and opposition.

  • Creative and innovative thinking

  • Drive to work systematically and an energetic, positive mind-set and attitude

  • Team player with proven ability to work under pressure and ability to adapt to fast changing situations

  • Proficiency in Excel, Power Point

  • Outlook and MS Office Skills
