C. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Air Procurement:

  • Work closely with airlines to obtain the market best Airfreight Cost (ad-hoc or long term).

  • Manage and maintain business relationships with Carriers/ Suppliers/ Other Stakeholders.

  • Provide support to all quotation requests from internal customers (local and overseas).

  • Follow up contract renewal with our appointed Suppliers.

  • Coordinate with Other Stake holders (IATA, Airfreight training Agents…) for all related issues such as payment follow-up, Bank Guarantee, and required Air certificate.

  • Responsible for Airfreight product development with Internal business units; Airlines and vendors.

  • Continuous improvement by job-learning to adapt to ad-hoc challenges and market changes.

  • Assist the commercial team for all airfreight development tasks, i.e. pricing strategy, routing selection, join sales visit; training on basic airfreight product knowledge.

  • Provide weekly updated market tariffs; market analysis report & other reporting as assigned.

2. Capacity Management:

  • Daily Shipment Booking handling.

  • Daily Airlines booking handling and securing sufficient capacity for short and long-term business volume needs.

  • Gather market intelligence during regular communication with airlines and other business partners.

  • Follow up on carriers' performance and support for problem-solving at the airport cargo terminal.

  • Monitoring core carriers’ performance per regional and global guidance. Follow up with airlines for any irregularity issue has occurred, and prevent any service failure cases

  • Coordinate with the customer service team and airport operations for any shipment booking detail changes

  • Carry out shipment consolidation and uplift planning via the most effective arrangement; in order to achieve maximum capacity usage & profit margin

  • Follow up on the booking status/ track & trace shipment from delivery at the origin till arrival destination completely

  • Must comply with Maersk procurement Compliance

3. Problem solving:

  • Ability & take ownership of assigned tasks, ensure smooth handling from A-Z

  • Support other teams (operations, sales team…) to solve problems with airport terminals, airlines, customers, overseas offices

D. JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree with at least 3 years of experience in freight forwarding/ airfreight.

  • General skills such as MS Office, presentation, negotiation, and being a team player

  • Basic knowledge of the freight forwarding industry, especially the main Airline carriers in the local market (current/potential partners)

  • Know Potential Volumes, traffic flows, key clients and competitive environment in the marketplace.

  • Logical thinking, sharp mindset, flexibility & pro-active in analysis & solving problems to adapt withthe urgency of airfreight service

  • Understand and be able to operate relevant operational processes, relative to inbound/outbound shipments and related customs requirements.

  • Familiarity and capability of using relevant tools/documentation (airway bills, cargo, software…) and product-specific jargon.

  • Ability to understand and anticipate client needs, business trends and associated potential for revenue generation in selected target industries/trade lanes

  • Ability to design differentiating consolidation solutions for Maersk that can increase closing rates for chosen clients, verticals, trade lanes

  • Ability to effectively negotiate Win/Win agreements with internal and external customers, and service partners.

  • Prefer basic knowledge of Airfreight Specific Loading Devices (ULD's), Dangerous Goods (DG), IATA that enables service and sales propositions to be crafted and delivered.
