Lead Commercial Lines Risk Pricing Analyst
Job Description
Lead Commercial Lines Risk Pricing Analyst
- Join a people-focused, mutual organisation committed to fair and accurate pricing
- Help develop pricing models and support best practice, by sharing your technical expertise with others
- Work from home 80% of the time, with the remaining 20% spent at our Stratford-upon-Avon offices
About the role
Working in Pricing at NFU Mutual feels genuinely different. With a clear focus on customers rather than shareholders, the team’s work has real impact — supporting local communities, protecting livelihoods, and helping our UK‑wide Agency Network deliver exceptional service. Our Pricing team has long been central to how we support our customers, and its role is becoming even more crucial. The team is now at the heart of one of NFU Mutual’s most significant transformation programmes, shaping how pricing will operate in the future to ensure fair, insight‑driven outcomes.
To deliver this transformation, the team is expanding and creating exciting opportunities to join at a pivotal moment. This is a rare chance to influence a high‑profile, business‑wide initiative where your work will be visible, valued and acted on. By working closely with colleagues across the business, you’ll play an important role in shaping NFU Mutual’s future. Beyond the transformation, you’ll join a Pricing team committed to continuous improvement, offering ongoing opportunities to grow, add value and make a real difference. If you want to drive meaningful transformation while developing your own career, now is the ideal time to join us.
As a Lead Pricing Analyst, you'll act as a technical role model, applying your pricing expertise to lead complex analysis, develop pricing models and deliver insights that influence business decisions. Aligned to our Commercial Lines Risk Pricing team, you'll be responsible for extracting, reviewing and analysing data, identifying performance trends and opportunities, and helping to ensure we continue to deliver fair, accurate and sustainable pricing across Commercial Lines products, such as Property, Liability and Fleets, ranging from SME to large corporate in size.
Using your analytical expertise, modelling capability and industry knowledge, you'll play a key role in developing and improving pricing models, rating structures and reporting. You'll help maintain robust quality control standards, ensuring data, models and pricing outputs remain accurate, effective and fit for purpose, while supporting the delivery of regulatory and business requirements.
Working closely with colleagues across Pricing, Underwriting and the wider Group, you'll build strong stakeholder relationships, influence the development of pricing solutions and contribute to the successful delivery of departmental projects and strategic initiatives. You'll also use your technical expertise to support, coach and develop others, helping to build capability across the wider team and promote best practice within the Pricing function.
This role offers the opportunity to take ownership of meaningful projects, contribute to the future direction of Commercial Lines Pricing and play an important part in one of NFU Mutual's most significant business transformation programmes.
About you
You may already have experience in Pricing within Financial Services or come from a Data Science background, with General Insurance experience being particularly valuable. Comfortable working with large datasets, you'll enjoy exploring, monitoring and analysing data to uncover meaningful insights and support business decisions. Experience with tools such as Radar, Emblem, SQL, R or Python would be beneficial, but just as important is your ability to apply analytical thinking and modelling techniques to solve complex problems.
We're looking for someone who is naturally curious, proactive and motivated by finding better ways of doing things. You'll be a strong communicator who can build effective relationships with a range of stakeholders, take ownership of your work and approach challenges with resilience and a solution-focused mindset. If you enjoy asking questions, solving problems and continuously developing your technical expertise within a collaborative environment, we'd love to hear from you.
At NFU Mutual, we support an inclusive workplace and value all the differences that make us unique. We celebrate the creativity and innovation that comes from diverse perspectives and experiences and share a common vision of doing the right thing for our customers and employees.
We recognise that some candidates may experience barriers during the recruitment process. So, we encourage candidates to discuss any adjustments or accommodations they need to be the best they can be throughout our recruitment process.
We're proud to be a Disability Confident Employer, a Race at Work and Women in Finance Charter signatory and welcome applications from people of all backgrounds, regardless of age, ethnicity, disability, neurodiversity, gender, religion, marital status, sexual orientation, or socioeconomic background.
