Job Description

Who are we?

Ki is the biggest global insurance tech company you’ve never heard of, unless you’ve been looking to insure a satellite, wind farm or music festival recently.

We launched in 2021 on the back of a fundraise that delivered $500m of investment, making us one the largest fintech start-ups that year. Our investors were excited about the fact we were revolutionising the way a 333 year-old industry was working. There are hardly any industries left that are mainly paper based, but the specialty insurance market is one. Together with partners at Google and UCL we developed Ki and created a platform that helped insurance brokers place risk in a fast and frictionless way. We’re continuing to lead the charge on the digitalisation of this market and to realise this goal we need more excellent minds to work with us to realise more opportunities.

We exist to make it easy for insurance employees to focus on the clever things and to spend more time building relationships than filling out endless forms. If helping us transform a multi-billion global industry sounds exciting to you let’s get to the formal bit.

What you will be working on

We are seeking a creative, forward-thinking, and inclusive Head of User Experience. You will be responsible for ensuring our products deliver value to our user as well as deliver the best financial performance to our business. You'll apply a data-driven approach to research and discovery, building strong relationships with our commercial and account management teams who regularly interact with our users, and ensuring quantitative and qualitative insights complement each other to build a clear picture of impactful problems to solve.

You'll think holistically about our user journey to deliver a cohesive and smooth overall experience, including the interaction that happens outside of our digital platform. Collaborating with product development leadership and other stakeholders to identify new opportunities and evaluating the impact of solutions on user satisfaction, engagement and retention, tying results back to core business KPIs.

You’ll lead, manage and mentor a team of UX designers, researchers and writers, creating best-in-class ways of working that will enable Ki to understand user needs, behaviours and motivations, and validate solutions. You are responsible for the development the UX function as we scale the business, ensuring a culture of experimentation and continuous learning so that we continue to successfully innovate.

Our culture

Inclusion & Diversity is at the heart of our business at Ki. We recognise that diversity in age, race, gender, ethnicity, sexual orientation, physical ability, thought and social background bring richness to our working environment. No matter who you are, where you’re from, how you think, or who you love, we believe you should be you.

You’ll get a highly competitive remuneration and benefits package. This is kept under constant review to make sure it stays relevant. We understand the power of saying thank you and take time to acknowledge and reward extraordinary effort by teams or individuals.

If this sounds like a role and a culture that appeals to you, let us know – apply here.
