We're looking for an experienced strategy consultant, to work within the Impression strategy team, taking a lead on our media planning capability across the full digital channel mix. This role may be suitable for those already working in a Strategy/Media Planning role, or those currently with Paid Media / Performance Marketing experience looking to branch out into a more channel-agnostic role. Most importantly, you're able to produce and realise data-driven media plans that meet and exceed business-level objectives.

The Role

In this role you will report into the Head of Digital Strategy.

You will lead the digital strategy across a number of our priority client accounts, bringing together paid media, SEO, digital PR, CRO and analytics to create multi-channel campaigns designed to help our clients achieve their business objectives. In addition to this you will play a key role in the scaling of our digital strategy department, assisting the head of department in proposition and process development, as well as the training and managing the wider team. There will be a specific focus on media planning and forecasting within this role.

As a Digital Strategist at Impression, you will be responsible for:

  • Own the delivery and growth strategy of a portfolio of key multi-channel accounts

  • Assist the Head of Digital Strategy in growing, managing and developing the digital strategy team and its respective disciplines

  • Line manage members of the digital strategy team, helping to guide their learning and development

  • Develop and improve, alongside the Head of Digital Strategy, our approach to media planning and forecasting

  • Contribute to Impression’s own marketing through thought leadership content and speaking

  • Contribute to new and existing business pitches with the commercial team support

  • Create additional internal demand for other Impression services, working with our Client Success team

  • Manage both internal and external stakeholders expectations

  • Build on your own profile as a digital strategy thought leader through social media

  • Assist the Head of Digital Strategy in the creation of departmental processes for winning, retaining and delivering work

  • Take a proactive and consultative approach in your client relationships to assist with theirs and our growth aspirations

  • Contribute to the evolution of our service offering through process improvement, competitor analysis and market research

  • Contribute to Impression’s learning and development programme, with a particular focus on the training of new digital strategists

  • Evaluate client’s strategies in line with their overall business objectives and identify ways to optimise the strategy and areas for improvement for future campaigns

  • Build media plans for clients, using insight and data to inform decision making, resulting in plans that are effective at driving business results

  • Build cross channel forecasts for clients and new prospects, using the data we have available

Salary: £35,000 - £51,000 DOE (plus £6,000 London Weighting for those living in the Greater London area)

Is this role for you?

We're looking for a candidate with an existing in-depth understanding of the hurdles larger SME and PLC clients come up against when it comes to setting and executing a digital marketing strategy.

To be considered for the Digital Strategy Consultant role at Impression, you will need to meet the following criteria.

Required:

  • 5+ years experience in a similar role (ideally agency-side but in-house/brand-side also considered)

  • Previous hands on experience in at least two of: SEO, Digital PR, Paid Media, Analytics, Conversion Rate Optimisation

  • Very strong knowledge of the appropriateness and effectiveness of digital marketing activities including SEO, Digital PR, Paid Media, Conversion Rate Optimisation

  • Good understanding of online web analytics, specifically Google Analytics

  • Experience in objective setting, setting performance indicators and reporting for a portfolio of multi channel accounts

  • Very strong numerical skills with proven ability at media planning and forecasting, demonstrating the ability to show media effectiveness and return on investment

  • Exceptional client management skills and be able to tell us how you deliver great experiences

  • Have demonstrable team management skills

  • Communicate your passion for digital marketing strategy

  • Have demonstrable experience managing multiple, sometimes conflicting, deadlines

  • Be a natural when it comes to adopting new software and technologies

  • Be a strong communicator, both written and verbally

  • Have experience in incrementality measurement

Also beneficial:

  • Experience in developing systems and processes to monitor performance across a growing portfolio of accounts

  • Experience using media mix modelling and/ or econometrics as measurement solutions

  • Experience managing Google Marketing Platform partnerships

  • Experience in designing and delivering commercial training programmes

  • Experience coaching and developing junior staff

  • Experience in international digital marketing projects

  • Experience with marketplaces such as Amazon

  • Have published work available online (i.e. blogs, whitepapers, guest articles, recorded video)

  • Experience reporting on financial departmental performance actuals vs plan
