OUR TEAM

The Healios Clinical team originally set out to empower every young person to build the capabilities for long-term mental health to successfully navigate life’s challenges and experience a better quality of life. However, the demand for mental health services has increased dramatically, requiring us to scale our delivery in unprecedented ways. Healios Labs was created to work on innovations that could help us do this. Within Labs, we are working on novel biomarkers for mental disorders and neurodevelopmental conditions such as Autism, that could offer our clinicians digital diagnostic aids to accelerate their work. We are also working on the future of adaptive digital therapeutics, informed by leading-edge continuous assessment algorithms that use AI and machine learning to direct therapy according to the evolving needs of our patients. THE OPPORTUNITY

We are seeking a Research Scientist to join our Science Team and work alongside data scientists and research scientists to deliver high quality research studies on Healios products.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:

  • Contribute to the scientific strategy and roadmaps for success,
  • Work with the VP of Science, Science team and Scientific Advisory Board to develop study designs from complex research questions and conduct high quality, rigorous research that contributes to the evidence of the product,
  • Write research papers for publication in international peer-reviewed scientific journals,
  • Prepare high quality presentations of scientific data for internal Healios teams and external channels (website, social media, magazines, conferences),
  • Extract, process and analyse data, and report findings (tables, graphs, summaries);
  • Assist with writing of statistical analysis plans, performing sample size estimation, and developing reporting specifications for protocols, study reports, scientific abstracts, peer-reviewed manuscripts, and grant proposals.

TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE, THIS IS WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU:

  • PhD, DClin or PostDoc in Psychology, Neuroscience, Public Health, Health Promotion, Population Health, Mental Health.
  • At least 1 first author paper either published or in the process of being published;
  • Experience working with industry (preferably tech) desirable but not required,
  • Good understanding of statistics and principles of hypothesis testing;
  • Experience with data analysis, visualisation and statistics in Python or/and R and data-related libraries (Pandas, NumPy, SciPy, StatsModels, Matplotlib, Seaborn, Plotly etc) or experience with JASP/JAMOVI and willingness to learn R/Python;
  • Proficiency planning, creating and executing research studies from conception to publication
  • A professional home working environment

As part of our pre-employment checks, all employees of Healios will be asked to have a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. Dependent on your role within the business, this will either be an Enhanced or Basic. A Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) check will be required. You will also be asked to provide two professional references as a minimum.
