Job Description

Reporting to the MI Manager, you will work with a variety of stakeholders, at all levels across the organisation to deliver MI dashboards, business insight and recommendations, utilizing data from both internal and external sources. Insight and recommendations will deliver potential solutions that save or avoid cost, improve performance or process and lead to an enhancement of Customer experience and / or a reduction in levy payer cost.

The Role Holder must build excellent relationships throughout the organisation and work closely with internal and external stakeholders to deliver consistent and accurate MI solutions and insight.

My Knowledge

You will be able to demonstrate the knowledge, experience, or mastery of:

  • Experienced in Business Intelligence or BI Developer Roles
  • End-to-end role within BI Development - gathering requirements, building/designing a scope, liaising with stakeholders, testing, implementing, documentation, delivering workshops and ongoing maintenance.
  • Must have strong proven experience in Power BI and SQL (T-SQL) with an ability to understand and implement relevant queries.
  • Strong design and build concepts for dashboards with excellent storytelling and data visualisation skills
  • Strong communication and people skills - this role will involve working with many internal and external stakeholders both technical and non-technical.
  • Google Big Query and Google analytics 4 is desirable
  • Desire to learn new technologies and continuously develop new skills and expertise.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and capability across SSIS, SSRS,SSAS
  • Azure experience is desirable
  • Extensive knowledge and ability in all MS Office products

My Role

In this MI/BI Analyst position, you will:

  • Deliver Business MI and Customer insight across all Business areas, including Partner companies, making recommendations, based on the data, for improving operational and / or commercial performance
  • To be responsible for the delivery of accurate MI, reports and dashboards, trend analyses and insight to the Senior Management Team and all Business areas within FSCS
  • Working closely with business stakeholders, to understand requirements to produce and present data and MI in an easy to understand visualisation, to provide ‘story telling’ through business insights on a variety of topics, within and outside FSCS.
  • Working closely with Business areas to discover insights that will guide strategic decisions and uncover optimisation opportunities. To work closely with the Data Team to deliver data driven solutions, software and technology to the business (e.g. Power BI)
  • Provide guidance on the use of Power BI report and driving best practice
  • Assist in identifying requirements to improve data quality and data governance
  • Regular engagement with business areas to ensure the needs of the business are met from an insights and analysis perspective.
  • To support The Partner MI team by developing measurement for contractual SLAs and detailed insight on Partner performance
  • To undertake quality/audit checking of all MI & commentary, delivered by Partner MI teams, to ensure its accuracy and insightfulness.
