What employees are saying

FSCS is a really flexible place to work that embraces the 'your day, your way' philosophy. Very inclusive to different circumstances. For me, it means I get a solid 'work-life' balance around child care and work. Love it :)

About us

For the past 21 years, FSCS has been getting customers of failed authorised financial services firms back on track.

Our people have worked together to make sure we can offer protection and reassurance every step of the way. We're an organisation that makes a difference, and in which our people truly make a difference.

As a relatively small organisation of approx. 250, we aim to give our people wider experience and more responsibility than they might typically expect in a larger organisation. Our agile approach means that every role can make an impact.

Flexible working at FSCS

Flexible working at FSCS is the rule rather than the exception. We recognise that all our employees have responsibilities outside of work, and we support this through our family-friendly policies and our Smarter Working initiative, Your Day Your Way.

Your Day, Your Way is committed to creating a working environment where our people can successfully balance their working and home lives. We offer all colleagues both flexibility in their working environment and flexibility within their actual working day.

In line with our Smarter Working approach, our principle is each employee on average  spending 40% of their time in the office.

Approach to diversity & inclusion

At FSCS we're on a mission to achieve an equitable experience for all: we recognise the importance of creating a diverse and inclusive workplace where everyone can succeed in achieving both their personal and professional goals.

We have been recognised in a number of national and external awards for our D&I work, including 12th most inclusive employer in the Inclusive Companies Top 50, Personnel Today 2021 for our Family Friendly policies, PIMFA D&I awards 2021 for Inclusive Talent Management, Women in Finance Employer of the Year 2021 and FT Adviser Diversity in Finance’s Trailblazing Company of the Year 2021

What do we think of FSCS?

We loved working with FSCS throughout the Flexification process. The response rate to our survey was incredible demonstrating how engaged the employees are within the business. The senior leadership team we're keen to understand the insights and how they could improve the business for its employees which is incredibly refreshing! Offering a fluid hybrid working model as opposed to set days within the office offers employees choice and autonomy over how they work. A very impressive set up!

“The look and feel of our workplace is changing and our work is no longer one size fits all – so where you want to work and when you want to work is for you, your line manager and your team to agree. We want our colleagues to think about the outcomes they are working to deliver and the most productive environment for the best results: Your Day, Your Way.”
