Amazing benefits at FSCS.
I very much enjoy the 'hybrid' approach used by my employer and appreciate the trust shown to get on with my role and deliver results for the team / company. Having worked in London for a considerable number of years, this way of working is both refreshing and rewarding both from a results and a wellbeing perspective. As far as I'm concerned, long may it continue, which given the forward thinking of my employer I believe it will.
Firstly, FSCS as a company are astonishing in every way!
They have introduced 'your day your way' with a 40% requirement of office time which is a greatly flexible option for staff, and now very common across other companies.
As a new parent (since lockdown) however, my home life has completely changed, and I personally find 40% office attendance quite a strain on home life. So it would be great to see this lowered to 25%.
Since I joined FSCS it has been a breath of fresh air, and the freedom, trust and flexibility is like nowhere I've ever worked before.
We have offered roles on a flex from first basis since 2018 and everyone can work in any role flexibly. You don't need to request it just discuss it with your line manager and agree a plan that works for you between the hours of 7 to 7 everyday. We ask colleagues to spend 40% of their time each month in the office but they can decide how to do that: 2 days per week, one week on another off, or all their time back to back if that works for them and their team.
Management and staff expect individuals to manage their own time in and out of the office around their workloads and commitments. You are expected to be flexible when needed so don't go making rigid plans on days you normally work from home.
A really flexible place to work, that embraces the 'your day, your way' philosophy. Very inclusive to different circumstances. For me it means I get a solid 'work life' balance around child care and work. Love it :)

What do we think of FSCS?
We loved working with FSCS throughout the Flexification process. The response rate to our survey was incredible demonstrating how engaged the employees are within the business. The senior leadership team we're keen to understand the insights and how they could improve the business for its employees which is incredibly refreshing! Offering a fluid hybrid working model as opposed to set days within the office offers employees choice and autonomy over how they work. A very impressive set up!
