Job Description

Your Mission

Join our team as a Senior UI/UX Designer in the edtech industry, and be the driving force behind defining and setting the bar for excellence in UI/UX design at FourthRev.

As this is a new role within the company, there will be a high level of ownership and autonomy required from the Senior UI/UX Designer as you will play a pivotal role in crafting impactful user experiences that drive engagement, increase conversions, and ultimately elevate the journey towards enrollments in our programs. In this fast-paced scale-up environment, you will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, adapt to rapid changes, and work with the Senior Design Manager and the Head of Marketing to shape the UI/UX standard of excellence. You will conduct user research, develop intuitive wireframes and prototypes, and most importantly ensure that we are keeping in line with our business goals from a UI/UX lens.

Key Responsibilities and day to day activities

  • User-Centric Mindset: Prioritise the needs, goals, and expectations of users throughout the design process. Conduct user research, empathise with learners and educators, and advocate for user-centred design decisions.
  • Design Excellence: Demonstrate a strong foundation in design principles, including visual aesthetics, typography, colour theory, and composition. Strive for excellence in designs with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Creative Problem Solving: Approach design challenges with creativity and innovative thinking. Find elegant and effective solutions to complex problems while considering technical constraints and business goals.
  • Strategic Thinking: Align design decisions with the overall product strategy. Analyse user data, market trends, and business objectives to inform design choices that drive impactful outcomes.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Excel in cross-functional collaboration and effectively communicate design concepts, rationale, and solutions to diverse stakeholders. Actively listen, seek feedback, and articulate design decisions clearly.
  • Leadership and Mentorship: Exhibit leadership qualities and provide guidance to other UI/UX designers where needed. Offer constructive feedback, inspire others with a compelling vision, and foster a culture of continuous learning and growth.
  • Adaptability and Flexibility: Thrive in dynamic environments, managing multiple projects with changing priorities. Adapt design approaches based on user feedback, emerging trends, and evolving business requirements.
  • Technical Skills: Possess expertise in design tools and software such as Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, Zeppelin or similar applications. Understand front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) to collaborate effectively with development teams.
  • User Research with a strong focus on Testing: Conduct user research, usability testing, and data analysis to gather insights about user behaviours, preferences, and pain points. Utilise these insights to inform design decisions that enhance the user experience.
  • Continuous Learning: Embrace a growth mindset and actively seek opportunities to expand knowledge. Stay updated with the latest design trends, emerging technologies, and industry best practices.
  • Requirements

    What you’ll need to succeed

    • At least 2-3+ years in a similar Senior role
    • Experience in EdTech or Higher Education ideal
    • Extensive experience as a UI/UX Designer, demonstrating a strong portfolio of successful projects
    • Proficiency in design tools such as Sketch, Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, or other relevant software
    • Ability to create wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity UI designs
    • Experience conducting user research and usability testing to inform design decisions
    • Strong understanding of interaction design, information architecture, and visual design principles.
    • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including developers, marketers, and product managers
    • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to translate complex requirements into intuitive and user-friendly designs
    • Knowledge of responsive design principles and experience in designing for multiple devices and platforms
