FINANCEWe're a global team with a presence in all of our locations around the world. Our biggest teams are based in the UK and Portugal. Our team in Porto focuses on financial reporting and operations, while the Group Finance team in London is made up of Corporate Development, Tax, Treasury and Commercial Finance. All of our teams play an instrumental role within the business, from developing best practice, delivering strategic projects and helping us to tell our story with data.

THE ROLEReporting to the VAT Manager, you will work together with the wider team in supporting the overall FARFETCH Group on all VAT matters. This is indeed a great opportunity to work in-house and experience first-hand what it is like to work Indirect Tax from a business perspective and without any country boundaries, as you will be working with multiple locations.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Actively support the wider team in the preparation and design of procedures for integration of new entities and realities that business decides to take on. This will imply contact with multiple teams, ranging from Tech to Product and Finance;
  • Analyze new business lines, transactions, projects and procedures within FARFETCH to provide VAT advisory support. You will help lead the team in identifying opportunities, designing solutions and / or improvement proposals;
  • Actively support junior members of the team on projects, implementation procedures and / or day-to-day advisory requests received from the wider FARFETCH Group regarding VAT issues and questions;
  • Review and monitor workflows, ensuring junior members keep tax related documentation updated;
  • Collaborate with the wider Indirect Tax team (including our internal compliance & Reporting team) in any Indirect Tax workstreams. You will be the point of contact on VAT advisory matters for the wider team.

WHO YOU ARE

  • Indirect tax consultant with minimum of 5 years of experience;
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken);
  • Experience in EU VAT;
  • Previous experience in e-commerce and / or fashion industry is an advantage;
  • Dynamic and proactive person, with a high sense of responsibility and high autonomy;
  • Excellent team player, with ability to adapt and interact with different departments (including Tech and other teams outside of the Finance area).
  • Good communication skills are crucial;
  • Results driven mind-set and problem-solving skills required, as we are a fast pace company, growing and changing on a daily basis.
