THE ROLEWe're looking for a Platform Engineer with a good understanding of Cloud Infrastructure components and a DevOps mindset. If you want to be part of a worldwide distributed and diversified team, we want you! As a Platform Engineer, you'll be working in a cross-functional team, empowered to rapidly iterate and release new features for the ecosystem of internal applications aimed at our Platform improvements. You will help us maintain and create our Platform while promoting a source for engineering innovation. At FARFETCH, you'll have the opportunity to contribute to the growth of the Delivery Platform area through daily challenges. WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Enable autonomy of the engineering team, abstracting the infrastructure layer
- Contribute to the distributed and highly scalable CI/CD platform that supports almost 1000 containerized microservices developed in different technologies with thousands of deploys per week from the entire tech department
- Improve our continuous integration model with smart build and test strategies
- Follow good practices about scale, performance, geo-distribution, multi-cloud, code maintenance, documentation. Keep Evolving, Keep Improving
- Fully own what you build by supporting the colleagues on using and extending the automation and tools so that they can deliver faster, better, harder, and stronger! You build it, you own it
WHO YOU ARE
- Graduated in Computer Science or another technical discipline
- A professional with at least 2/3 years of demonstrable experience in the IT engineering field
- Experienced on troubleshoot in a Kubernetes environment
- Experienced on CI/CD practices and comfortable with Jenkins technologies
- Experienced on object-oriented languages (C#, Java or Groovy)
- Experienced Docker, Microservices, and REST APIs
- Knowledgeable with Infrastructure as Code best practices and technologies
- Always looking for the reliability, scalability, and performance of your software end to end
- Learning mindset, being able to research and implement features in unfamiliar technologies in collaboration with experts
- Fluent in English both spoken and written
